I'm not one who typically flames people, but this incident really bothered me. It's a small flame, really, but I felt it best to warn other people about this player, as they will probably be gimp and not putting the effort in. I accepted the invite because there were no tanks seeking at the time, and I didn't know what I was getting into. I'm in the pt as a SCH/WHM level sync 46, and the only other support job was a DNC who was helping to keep people alive. Ciaraleone was there as COR, but was not using Evokers Roll. When questioned about this in pt, the answer was No Money! This is the conversation that followed:

Farming is boring and harder now that it used to be, but you gotta do it sometimes. I would of stopped COR at 40 until I got Evoker's. I mean, at least get the important ones. I would skip over like PLD's, PUP's, and DRG's or something.

But yeah, pretty stupid.

I'd do some research before starting a job at least to find out how much that job is gonna cost. Every jobs that requires tools is just asking to be called "gil sink" while leveling up. You have to come up with the gils to buy the gears and the tools. If you can't afford to pay for the gears and the tools, either find an another job or try to find a way to make money. Simple no?

While you play a game for fun, you also know that you have to put time into whatever you do to play the game well. That goes for anything really.

The fact that she said that farming is boring and not why she plays the game is just an excuse for laziness and I have no sympathy for it. There are plenty of people that play this game that hate farming (me included, makes me cringe every time I get started) but still do it and are better players for it.

COR is a gil sink but its worth it in the end when you play that job well.

The thing that pisses me off about the whole "I only play for fun" thing is that we all fucking play for fun and, when some shit bag comes into a party it makes a bad time for everyone involved. So my message to all the gimp/lazy fucks out there is to quit being selfish and ruining my fun because you happen to be too lazy to take a couple hours and do some BCNMs or something. Also, fuck you.

I'm surprised that gimp alarms didn't start ringing when someone, who named their character after a 3rd world country invited you to party.... I mean, they can't even afford food, let alone dice to make everyones lives easier.

Only real difference between this and the OPs flame, is that getting 40k for a Roll =/= 2.5M~+ for Random HQ Lvl75 gear, mate.

Lot of the endgame LSs supply their members with payouts~But in the beginning, 40k isn't too hard to make, specially if you farm in Zi'Tah. Relitively easy to make 40k easy.

But I also agree with you, instead of them bashing the person they shoulda asked them if they needed help getting the gil while farming, as Farming can be very boring and tedious if you don't have someone with you to make the time go by. =) (Note the person who actually suggested everyone donate 10k per person, not a big amount for most players, to get them their Evoker's Roll. ^^)

Now if they rejected that completely, then would have a reason to dislike the person stated in the OP~Which is pure lazyness.(Which is what it seemed like, anyways.)

I wouldn't give 10k to someone who I didn't know, and we were in the middle of a party, to go get Evoker's Roll all the way out in Nashmau. It's different if they told you before time that they didn't have Evoker's because they couldn't afford it. Then maybe you can help them out. But not everyone has money all the time either. I remember when I used to sit on 5k-20k max and that wasn't too long ago.

No one is fucking expecting you to be pimp while you level a job, whether you have a linkshell that gets you money or not. No one is fucking expecting you to be pimp when you hit 75 either. Shit, Auberjeen is no where near pimp (love you really), but she would at least have Evoker's Roll post-40 on COR. Getting things needed for your job is completely different than gear. That's like being 50-some WHM without Raise because it was too expensive.

I am nowhere near pimp, and first to admit it lol.

I wasn't saying she needed to have +1 gear or anything like that. My issue was with her attitude towards the game, more than what she was wearing.
Don't take up a job if you aren't willing to put some work into it. Not getting the basic spells needed for your job is worse to me than not having a "pimped" piece of gear.

I think it wouldve been more prudent to explain to this person that from 40+ you are going to be asked to party as a refresher, not as merely a corsair....

Beyond that i think this is a good flame, I am definitely not going to party with this person on cor, or any job for that matter because she made it clear that she knows what it takes play the job and contribute and she chooses not too....

Ciaraleone - Yeah farming is work and it sucks.... but what sucks more is inviting someone to play who needs everyone else to pick up your slack... I saw you wearing a haub the other day, so that means that you've played enough to know whats expected of a "refresh" job.... No bullets either? you are dead weight by choice.

The real irony is partying with someone who wants to "play" and not "work" makes playing into work for the other 5 people.

I wished some magical LS helped me get my Haub +1. This isn't the difference between a piece of +1 gear and non HQ this is someone not having something that is a big part of their job.
