Ciaraleone

Congratulations, you managed to bully someone to the point they dropped party. You sound awesome.

I don't really think 'telling it as it is' would be bullying. More like tough love. She got that far. She's mentioned getting previous constructive criticism and it looks as if she's ignoring or finding excuses.

'If I'm making you uncomfortable, I'm sorry. It'll only get worse the higher level you get.'

Sounds pleasant enough. Telling it as it is.

I hope she has a thicker skin..

Uh...thanks? We replaced her with a dragoon and actually did better without her.

Go figure. We cut dead weight from a party. I am awesome, thank you.

Irony is, she went back to East Ronfaure S to party. I guess she has no interest in being good at the game.

Seems like a trend for CORS nowadays, I'm starting to see more and more of that. IN ENDGAME. I won't give a name but there used to be a COR in my sky ls that would do that, except she'd Snake eyes to a UNlucky number for every roll she did... everytime..it was pretty annoying.

She was in blm pt btw.

Is it so hard to look at the Scrolling description on the top of your screen to see whats lucky and whats not? Its like all the new CORs think they don't need to know anything because "they are high in demand". -_-

I also know a few cors that won't pt without a brd, and then just sit there and not even do damage.

I also know a special COR that will and can do anything. <3 :P

It really bugs me when I see people that won't make an effort to contribute to parties. (might as well solo if your gear is gimp, no one can see it!)

she said she was only grinding Cor so she could "look awesome in the AF."

Can't say anything to that becuase I'm doing that on my tarutaru lol. But atleast I can get some bullets and I have all my dice, not going to sit in a pt and admit to being completely useless. I crafted my noct gear :)

My thoughts were all confuddled because my party only just now broke, so let's elaborate a bit.

She said in Whitegate that since she was /whm, that she was there "for support only" and wouldn't pull. Sounds fair enough, our party also had a thief and a ranger in it.

Second or third mob, "I'm feeling froggy, so I'm going to melee!" She jumps in with her bloody rapier and begins to miss a lot. As referenced in the post, she did eventually hit a 9 point Shining Blade.

But let's not just bitch about her gear, because that would be uncouth. I tried to be subtle about trying to convince her to shoot things. Skeith was landing 1k+ Sidewinders, so I asked what level Cor gets Slugshot. Eventually dig out of her that her marksmanship is 144.

When asked about cards, she didn't say a word. I don't think she knows what Quickdraw is, because you don't really use it in East Ronfaure S. When asked why she wasn't shooting, she said "Well, I'm not /nin so I'm missing an archer's knife. Also I'm not /rng for sharpshot." I don't think she used a single point of MP during the entire length of party.

Furthermore, while we were in Whitegate, she said something like "I'm going to go /nin!" and no one said a word. Then she zoned and came out on /whm. For some reason.

She was using lv1 ammo, and to be honest, I can't tell you if she hit anything, because I have misses filtered. I didn't see her do much of anything the whole party because of that.

It got lost in the log because the whole conversation basically happened while we were fighting, but she also made it a point to wonder why we weren't using Samurai roll. I explained that at that level, there aren't really hit builds or meaningful Store TP and she said "But I paid 60k for it." As if that means anything. Congrats, you got a die. Learn how to use it, please.

I tried to be nice, honestly. I didn't insult her gear, I didn't really outright say anything terribly offensive. It got a little heated at the end, but once she started rolling OFF OF LUCKY NUMBERS and I told her she was doing so, I got

"Meh. I'm not a hardcore/professional player, so I don't care." (spelling and grammar and punctuation mine)

That's the last straw for me. Not knowing what's relevant? Okay. Not being the best geared? That's fine, I didn't say a word about a Corsair using a Headlong belt (which is still 150k+, and should be sold immediately to, I don't know, buy a back piece, or another earring, or a proper weapon.), I didn't say anything about her piece of shit sword, I didn't start in about gear at all.

But when you try to shove off your inability to do your job on not being "hardcore/professional" you have offended me, sir/madam. There are some elitist pricks in this game, there are some really snobby people that would have outright said, in party, right in front of her, "This corsair fucking blows, replace her with anything. Even a Pup will do better than her." What she said was the equivalent of "I don't know how, but I don't take it seriously so it's okay."

I party with people who don't know everything, I party with people who can't afford everything, I party with people who literally just don't know any better. I will not party with people who refuse to /try/ because they're not "pro." Fuck that noise, you're going to get called on it when people realize inviting you was a HUGE mistake.

Also, the petty comments right before she dropped about "Oh, what about a gimp sam with a soboro who can't take hate and using seigan" really steamed my corn, too. It really shouldn't, I mean, a gimp trying to tell someone else how to play shouldn't really bug me, but what pissed me off the most was that I'm sure she thought she had valid points. RDM NIN THF SAM RNG gimpCOR. I should totally be rocking Hasso the entire time while /war for first provoke, and I should absolutely be using a polearm to rip hate off of the tank. That's what makes a real melee real, amirite? Having not a fucking clue how to cooperate with your tank and THF to make sure only one person is taking damage? Go back to your gimp SAM and no clue how to play your jobs, I'll be over here contributing to my parties AND having fun.

Slashrant.

LOL you call that bullying? Lyall told this shitty excuse for a player (in the nicest way possible) that gimping herself that way is only gonna make things worse in the long run. Honestly, I'm sure most other people here would have been a lot meaner. God forbid she runs into Myrrh while in a pt XD

Congratulations, you managed to bully someone to the point they dropped party. You sound awesome.

Yeah, that wasn't really bullying Dark. He told her that she's not gonna get too far if she doesn't start playing right and she left. That wasn't bullying at all.

Damn you Kyas... why you ratting out my COR?!?!?! WTF thats messed up yo!

Once again level sync shows how easy it is to power level jobs on players past their lv of expertise, people dont want to learn about being a Cor in their 40's and 50's and 60's no they just wanna spam east ronaf (S) bird camps and keep syncing off another random 37.

I heard on one social shell they couldnt do a party cause none of them had a lv26 to do lv sync in zitah blm burn, but that one of them was de-leveling a lv 29 job so they could eventually sync to him when he got low enough via sucides...

And people wonder why I solo so much now, maybe I'm just tired of stupid partys.

NO NO NO NO NO.

This is the exact fucking opposite of what needs to be done here. All you're teaching him/her is that if people bitch enough about his gear someone else will buy it for him. What a terrible lesson.

Myrrh, ever heard of something called a loan? It's a real life term where people borrow money and pay it back at a later day. If you reread what I typed, I stated that if I buy it, she can pay me back. I certainly wouldn't expect to just give out freebies and them to expect getting free stuff all the time.

Once in a while it's okay to help out a person if they're new and the stuff is fairly cheap, but most of the time they need to earn it someway. Even if I simply just bought it without her paying me back, I'd expect her to do some favour ingame to help me out, like with a quest, mission, etc. since the help would be earning the money.

Please reread what I stated to begin with. It's a loan, not freebies and handouts.

Thank you.

No, I knew what you said when you said it but with a person like that a loan is not a loan. It's a hand out. They made it clear(twice, now) that they don't want to farm.

Oh and helping to pay back a loan by helping with a mission or a Nm is also not going to work. A player with that kind of attitude and gear will only be a massive hindrance to anything you do.

I'll be able to get her to help me with something to repay me with that, even if it isn't farmed gil. Anyway, I haven't given her anything yet anyway or going to either. Apparently now she's taking a bit of a break from exping anyway >.>

Did the mean hurtful words of the internet bullies get to her?

Then she should use the time to learn to farm. It's something we all had to do at some point.
It's not hard to farm, it's not hard to kill stuff in a zone to get their drops.
It can be tedious, yes. Is it worth it? Hell, yes.

Amusing, shortly after she left in a huff from our party, she was synced to 40 in East Ronfaure S. Then she was anon in a group in Wajaom. Then she was (is, right now) anon in a party in Arrapago Reef.

Yes, I am a troll at heart, and no, I can not leave well enough alone. You said you were glad she had a wake-up call, Chrono. It's not loud enough. Going elsewhere and sucking in a party that won't kick you for sucking is not learning, it's taking your Princess Syndrome and hiding the fact you, in fact, have no clue how to play the game.

I rarely ever farmed. Truthfully, I had no idea how I just randomly got money. But yes, farm, BCNM, KSNM, something. Definitely don't "loan" it to them. If you do, they need to repay it within the week and yeah, missions and stuff don't count.

Lyall you got your point across. I hated people that used parties and never quite learned their jobs. Trust me I know of alot of them.

But you continuing to troll isn't going to help the situation. Let it go for now that person will eventually learn his/her job, continue to hang out with Urat, quit, or suck so badly no end game shell will want him/her.

See Urat if you don't understand.

Yeah, good point.

/sigh

I remember stopping at 48 PLD for... what, I think a month... to farm up 600k in gil for all the new equipment I'd get at 50.

600k was extremely painful to make back then, especially when all I had was mining in the grotto or Palborough.

And yet, 50 was so much more awesome a level because I was able to blink into a shiny new set of PLD gear that was the best I could possibly have at the time. My party directly benefited from the added DEF and VIT. Sure, I could have kept going, but the Quicksand Caves (the only good camp I knew of for 48-52 back then) would have been a LOT harder than they already were if I had tried to do it with crappy gear.

It was a point of pride, and you just don't see that in newer players anymore.

Quite a few times when I've had newer players say to me they get bored farming or dont know where to go, I've rather than given them a handout gone out with them and made farming more fun by taking them places they dont normally go, making an adventure out of it.

I think many newer players are daunted by the size and scope of this game so exploration and farming can often go hand in hand in FFxi, unfortunately some people want everything now, they dont want to work towards a goal they want to be lv 75 and in cool gear hours after first logging in the game. ^^

I teverything has to be worked for in this game, thats the way they made it on purpose... not just to extend your playing time but to add a heightened sense of accomplishment to gaining levels and items in this game....

I was going to suggest that an MMO is not for someone like ciaraleone, but now that I think about it, even single player RPGs have moments where you hit a wall if your gear or level isnt good enough...

I remember ffx when I couldnt beat a certain boss, so i spent maybe 1 or 2 hours grinding AP for my sphere grid because i was missing key abilities for the fight. the sense of accomplishment was so much greater by having to work for it... and really it should be something like that for anyone that enjoys these kinds of games....

but ciaraleone... if you really dont want to play an rpg with work involved... I hear Yoville on facebook is click2win
