I kinda hate to derail this thread completely. But, as I see a screenshot from your pc, which I remember you having a rather beefy pc. I'd like to share with you some screenshots I took this morning from CO so you can sort of compare. Though posting them in this thread would take up a lot of space and really detract from it's topic, so if anyone would like some examples of the costume creativity and freedom, as well as the visuals CO offers. (which judging by Reya's screenshot, CO is still far ahead of DCUO, imo. At very least they are fairly even, though it looks like DCUO is trying for a type of realism and CO is blatantly comic styled, while using two slightly different styles.)
I will just post one picture of my only female character in my personal favorite costume that I made for her: Mistress T'Liana, an archery hero with magical powers. I call this costume Angelic Assassin:
I would just like to add that it's kind of hard to take good pictures in CO due to the fact that the HUD is there when you hit printscreen, but apparently isn't there on the actual screenshot. I may have to retake some more pictures to get a closer up look. You can't quite tell, but CO distinguishes 3-5 different types of textures on costumes: Cloth, Leather, Metal (the basic 3), skin and matte. I believe I made all of her costumes leather since it has an awesome shine.
2nd Edit:
Another feature I do like is that with each costume, power sets that use weapons for damage can change the look of their weapons assuming they've unlocked additional weapons in the costume shop (which you do by playing the game and can get some from quest rewards and random loot). These are displayed in the many screenshots I took this morning (at least the bows).
