Free gift, and it is a large poster. There's also some DS Lite Stickers of DQIX.

Yeah, one I got is large too, and thanks.
Should have responses by tomorrow, only 25/50 got the grand prize.
 
Man I loved VIII on the PS2 and I think I'll pick this up for the DS until the beta for FFXIV comes out.

Woohoo, won the Blue DSi and a copy of the game as well!!

People have started getting t-shirts today as well, it's got a King Slime on the front surrounded by 8 slimes, and it says It's Party Slime!
And on the back is the DQIX logo.
Will post pics when I get mine.

Nintendo Week for July 5th features an entire episode dedicated to DQIX, and will be a 2 part-er with another episode next week.

No, the multi-player is local wireless only, Wi-Fi is used for the DQVC shop that updates daily, and the weekly quests.

Congratulations that's sweet!

I put my pre-order in yesterday. Should be arriving on UK launch date. I could of imported it and had it earlier but I'll just have it as a birthday present anyway seeing as my birthday is only a couple of days after launch date here.

Really can't wait for this after watching that video you posted above.
 
For me, it's kind of a shame that it won't be WW multiplayer because nobody around where I live gives a crap about this game. The only time I might have a chance at playing this game with others might be at university with the other games design students. Another point worthy of noting, it seems really unlikely that we're gonna have the same amount of players using tag mode like they do in Japan.

Well, let's hope Nintendo can pull it off and make Dragon Quest more successful with those Casual Players they've amassed, as this is what they should really be playing >_>

In any case, it's not long until we have the game here in the UK. Also, congrats again Tiael.
 
This game is pretty cool.
 
It is, and I'll probably not even touch the multi-player, nothing you can only get via that mode, it's just a fun addition to DQ.

Anyways, I've gotta go to the Coffinwell dungeon now, but farming gold and getting levels.
Want to at least open up the Wi-Fi shop soon in the Quester's Rest, but not sure how far that is from where I am.
 
My only gripe so far is that the boss music is pretty underwhelming.
 
I like it, and of course it depends on the boss.
 
So, vocation changing was pretty cool.
Until I tried to progress the story and realized that the dungeon by the port town wasn't exactly tailored towards my level 10 band of idiots.

Time to grind...
 
Yeah I just unlocked vocation changing myself, need to go to that port town now, but leveling other vocations.

My plan is for my Hero to be the Minstrel/Thief/Ranger/Luminary (aka light armor, decent attacker, healing capabilities), another being the Mage/Armamentalist/Sage (typical damage dealer), other being Cleric/Paladin/Sage (typical healer), and last being Warrior/Martial Artist/Gladiator, or the damage dealer.
