Gear, "skill" and "easy" jobs some [M]

Have you ever met someone with insane gear that isn't very good at their job? (Gilbuyer's excluded - that's a whole different topic.) If you have the dedication to spend hours upon hours to get that gear, you definately have the dedication to learn how you can play your job to its fullest.

Ethar and Batcheporu are too well equipped gimps that come to mind. :P Exceptions to the rule?.....perhaps....

I swear.. dont read the boreds for a few days and all kind of crap flies everywhere, heh.

Now for my opion. Note that I didnt read everything, skimmed through all the posts briefly.

I actually kinda want to go back and read Al's original post again, but oh well. Im not even sure how many hours of play time ive logged in the game. I have been playing FFXI since day one of the North American launch on the PC. I have no jobs at lvl 75, and to be honest I kinda feel a little bad about that. As so many others already do, or are working on their 3rd job to 75. I've taken a few long pauses and come back to the game. Even now im not really as interested in FFXI as I used to be. I think its just a video game overload or something, im not entirely sure.

My highest job, level 55 in Dark Knight which is my main job (as noted in my sig). It's what ive wanted to play as since before the launch. As I said before, its kinda bumming me that im not higher in level. There's a lot of factor though for this though, one being the breaks I took, which I feel probably hurt me the most level wise.. as all the people who started at the same time as me pretty much passed my by. And I was kinda thrown into the bringing up Drk around the PS2 launch, so I was starting with another bunch of newbies, yes.. if you had just started then, you were a freaking newbie, deal with it. Doesn't mean anything because you were on a PS2, just that you were brand new to the game. Not to mention a lot of the new players really were idiotic.. so it didnt help break the sterotype at all. I should hope that the majority of them (the stupid, idiotic newbs) have quit FFXI by now.

I also took a break a while later like sometime in my 40's as a Drk. Which unfortunately pushed me a little farther behind the curve so to speak. I needed both breaks though as when I came back I was more into the game and such.

Though here I am now, ive got decent gear for lvl 55, only things im missing really are Sniper's Rings. I've had my Vassago's Scythe since I was mid level 54, and its waiting ever so patiently for me when I reach 58. Though my problem now is aquiring gil. It's a huge boring dilemma and it's really pushing me away from FFXI because of the difficulty of obtaining large amounts of gil.

Before I go any further, I will point out that I have no crafts leveled. I don't intend of ever crafting (maybe cooking if I ever feel like it), and as I've said before in other posts; It just doesn't interest me. It is no fun to me. Now, I realize that though its a painful process, choosing the right craft and making the right things can eventually pay off nicely. Svina's enjoying her success or so it would seem from the sale of sniper's rings and such that he/she makes. (female character.. but male player, right? That always confuses me. Sorry if I guessed wrong.) So the proof is there, that it can very well pay off. However I cannot bring myself to craft , I.. just won't do it.

So... Currently had about 100k, which is extremely poor. As my next armor upgrades are freakishly expensive in order for me to be the best I can be. Granted, I still have 4 levels to go till I reach hauby level but my freaking god.. there's no way in hell im ever going to be able to get that and my snipers rings without selling my soul (aka, buying gil) or just simply having lady luck on my side. Lady Luck seems to have abandoned me though, as the only means I have to aquire the money I'll need, not just for future weapon/armor upgrades but also for normal usage items; food, oils, powders, as well as the occasional specialty items I may need to bring with me for missions/events (Promvion anyone?).

I like to be well prepared.. up untill now I've made sure that I've always had the weapon/armor/food I needed well before reaching the level I was to equip them so that I could put forth my best when being in an exp party. Generally this has always lead to a good time with good players, and im left with compliments, ect. I like being good at my job(s), it's always a pleasure to have someone compliment you, though its usually because of their bad experiences with bad players of your same job. So that stings a little, but one can look past this and think "Okay, I know I'm a good player".

Not having the money to be able to buy what i'll be needing is kinda stressing me out. My main and really only profitably way of getting gil is to camp NM's.. god..I abhor camping NMs, but I have to do it. If I had the ability to go to each one of those god forsaken huts that the gilsellers work out of and slay them all I would in a heartbeat. It's not like its bad enough when you go to camp something and there's other normal players there you have to compete with.. hell atleast that's gererally a fair competition.. but then you've got this freaking gil seller or sellers who actaully fucking devise stupid little methods of camping a NM that let them get the damn thing 99% of the god damn time. It's not fair.. I mean hell.. a normal player can't play 24/7 we have shit to do, and sleep. If there werent any damn gil sellers, sure, the places might be packed with normal players, but atleast most normal campers dont act like fucking robots.. and make mistakes that someone else can pick up on and take advantage of.

I used to be able to take advantage of the gil sellers in Ordell's. Dokyii would, and still does camp the same spot. Though for a few weeks fucking Beocheio would god damn tag-team along with her making it damn impossible to get any claims at all. Last I went there Dokyii was camping her spot solo again, but in general the people playing her seem to be even sharper than before. I dont know what the fuck they do, and I do believe they are using some kind of program that blocks out all other mobs accept the NM from their vision. That coupled with her tactic of flee-voke ups the difficulty on camping the damn thing a fuckload.
Now, i dont think that's anything new really.. its just what bugs the shit out of me is how they are able to voke it so much faster .. i mean the thing will be within voking distance and no matter how close I am, the only time I ever get a claim is if dokyii happens to be on the wrong side of the area, and the chyme pops right by me at the other side.

They must think its really cute to go invis before they flee.. as if we cant target them anyway and see exactly where they are.. invis or not it never helps them if they are on the wrong side and it pops near me or another camper. As i said before, lady luck has not been with me.. as it always spawns away from me and ofcourse dokyii can flee right to it since they see it spawn. The whole thing makes me sick. I really wish I had known/though about killing them all with my AF2 forced spawns.. man, that would have been something. Point made, and well known, gil sellers suck ass.

While im there I generally kill the malrboro's for their vines, that way I atleast dont leave the caves with nothing.. though it doesn't dampen the dissapointment that swells inside me much, just making a measly 3-5k here and there. When I so much feel like I need the gil now.. I need my snipers as soon as I can get them. I feel like im so gimped without them.. and to be honest I dont even know why I let myself feel that way. The Deft Rings I have work decently enough, though ofcourse the snipers would be a lot better.

This game isnt a race, but I would like to continue rather than feel stuck, farming.. camping NMs.. *sigh* It all just feels like im not doing anything productive because with the time i put into trying to camp.. coming empty handed a good 95% of th time really feels like making no progress.

Recently I tried a Promvyion-Dem for the first time. Now that was a lot of fun, made it all the way to the spire easily enough and damn near beat the boss.. untill the very end.. it had like 10-15% of its health left.. and we just began dropping like flies ><. Realized a short bit later we had apparently farmed the wrong anima... ><; *sigh* I still had a great time though. I'm looking foward to doing them again, with anyone really. The whole thing just really put me back in that feeling of enjoying the game again. Now I like FFXI, but just havent really been able to enjoy it much lately. Lots of things just kinda puting a downer on my whole gameplay experience.

Seriously, if buying gil wasn't so ridiculasly overpriced I would honestly consider it just to get past this blackened hole im in right now.

I'm not sure what to do.. I've been playing other games lately, spent an insane amount of time n Counter Strike: Source the other day.. username Ecks007 if anyone cares, i think ill be playing that a bit more often, shooting people is always fun. I can't give up on FFXI.. it would be a waste of everything ive put into it to just drop it. There's still a lot for me to do in the game, and I look forward to so much of it.. but right now this rut im in is really bringing me down.. and it sucks.. very very much.

My spelling isn't great, but i dont care right now, its nearly 2 am and ive gotta get some sleep soon. Thanks for bearing through my thoughts/rants.. and I do hope to see the majority of you ingame sometime. *sigh*.. man.. so down. Ugh.

no offense.. but playing BLM never really was hard... you stand up.. and nuke.. knowing the weaknesses of the mobs so you know the proper nuke is good and knowing the things to put on the mob like chock are important and helpful too.. but I don't find BLM as a challenge.. you stand up and nuke and sit down and rest

Uh-Huh. I personally dont find Rdm that difficult. I mean all you do is refresh and convert, hell you dont even sit!

lmao... lie. if a rdm ever never sits, they suck.

end of story.

I'm sure Monk is terribly hard to play.

Reach level 30 - watch everyone stop and start over with advanced jobs. Just stand there and keep fighting and stuff...
Sit in Jeuno chatting and not farming
Hit stuff alot
Do some more stuff
Don't camp NMs and stuff considering you have the fastest claim tool in the game. Bah too much work!
Hit some more stuff and stuff....
Don't level your subjob, too much work....leveling 2 whole seperate jobs Monk AND Warrior??? (No Thanks) (I'm Sleepy)
Sit In Jeuno thinking to yourself that being a MNK/WAR maybe isn't going to be the fastest way to 75.
Go on Alla and bitch about how RNG/NIN is overpowered and needs to be nerfed for "stealing" your party spot for the umpteenth time in the Monk forums.

Bah, it's not a coincedence that there is a sudden influx in Warriors and Monks post 30 now in the past 3 months. If you love the job that's great, I don't mind either in my party....but 90% are only in it to try and get to 75 the fastest, they look like shit, they play like shit, and they make me make shitty posts like this.

I played one of the most sought after jobs to invite and I still had the best, Ill be god damned if I didnt have the best as a 2 week at a time LFG monk. There is no excuse for anyone to not have the finest, but especially Monks, DRGs, etc. Best believe I would have Cross Counters . So be a winner, be like Vang.

Let me tell you firsthand that good gear for a MNK means shit for invites.

I've got a 42MNK, leveled sub, current gear looks like this:

Mythril Knuckles +1
Windurstian Headgear (Cheaper than Merc. Captain's, weird)
Spike Necklace
2x Beetle Earring +1
Jujitsu Gi
Ochiudo's Kote
2x Sniper's Ring that I can switch to Puissance Rings if the mob is super low EVA
Nomad's Mantle
Brown Belt
Republic Subligar
Fuma Kyahan

I hit more than any melee I've ever partied with. I'm regularly at 140% TP as the SAM hits 65%, and have parsed better DPS than every other job save BLM and RNG in my parties. 3 million in gear and it means fuckall because I'm just a MNK that just 'hits teh baddiez real hard.'

Oh well, back to seeking I go :x

And no, it's not hard to play MNK, not at all. I'm just sick of THF's bitching because either a) They can't close their precious Distortion wtih Viper Bite or b) They refuse to follow Backhand Blow with SATAVB because 'Scission is teh sux!' FUCK you.

Re: Gear, "skill" and "easy" jobs some [

I realize that most of what I'm saying below is in agreement with alanon, but these are just my thoughts on it:

alanon said:
To comment on skill. I am so sick of hearing that eq doesnt equal skill. This is both true and complete bullshit at the same time. The reality is, there is no "skill" in this game, there is only intelligence and timing and the rest is all your equipment. You are not the one swinging the weopan. Skill are the ones who actually, physically do things. Athletes, Craftsman, tradeworkers, doctors, etc all have the ability to be skillful. In the video game world, FPS, certain sports games, etc do take some skill, this game does not. Again, Intelligence and timing are the human factors in this game, not skill.

I really don't think that when people speak of skill [in the context of the game] they mean that you're good at swinging a weapon. It's certainly not what I mean. When I say skill, I mean: you have appropriate macros, know when to use them, know how to get the most out of your job abilities, understand weapon skills and skillchains, or status effects and magic bursts, etc.

alanon said:
As far as equipment goes, this game is based on a "dice roll" system. I am not a big D&D nut, so perhaps someone can explain this better than me, but basically what this means is that in every action there is a simulated "dice roll" event that takes place. Every time a weapon is swung, a DR happens to determine if you hit, another to determine how much, another to determine crits etc. This isnt ALL chance, the outcome is also influenced by modifers. Where do these modifiers come from? Equipment and Food. You could be Albert Fucking Einstein, but if you have sub-par eq, and you play with Spongebob in all HQ eq, Spongebob will hit for more and more often. This is an undisputable fact.

You are right in that, given two players of equal skill (skill being used here as mentioned above) and base stats, yes, the one with better gear is going to do more damage. But like you said before, it's "both true and complete bullshit at the same time"--it's not usually an absolute. Most of the time it's a combination of both factors. I think you have it right when you say,

alanon said:
Can you have good gear and be a good player? Yes. Do you need to have great gear and be a great player to be the best? Yes! Can you have great gear and still be a bad player? Yes! Now before someone comes in and says, "But you just said..." If you have awesome EQ but can't skillchain or burst or adjust to save your life, you Suck! In fact, the last example is probably the WORST player EVER!

Most of the kickass players I've partied with had kickass gear. I have been with a couple of mediocre players with excellent gear as well, but for the most part, I'd guess that yes, if you have the dedication to actually stop leveling and raise good chunks of money, you probably pay enough attention to other aspects of the game to be a really good player. I would say though, that the reverse doesn't necessarily hold true except for the extreme (that is, really shitty player who doesn't care about knowing how to play *or* adequate--much less great--gear).

And the whole "X job is so easy you can get to 75 just twiddling your thumbs" comment is BS. Yeah, you can get pretty high being incompetent, but if you're a decent player you're going to be fairly busy during fights no matter which job you're playing.

Vang, you are 100% right. the only job that is easier to play than a gimp monk is a chinese gilseller. and there are more gimp monks around than chinese gilsellers it seems these days, likely for all the reasons you described. on the other hand, i dont think there is any job that is more disheartening to play than a GOOD monk. You know, the ones with pimp gear, flawless sc ability, ta tanking skill, +mnd equip change macros for that boosted chi blast on chain 3, etc. Not because it takes a great deal of skill, simply because of the fact that here you are, lfg in rolanberry or on the boat, farming or camping or fishing for days at a time, wearing more combined gil value than the entire party that isnt inviting you. And youre damn right, any monk who doesnt have top-notch gear, simply by Default!
is quite frankly not worth my thoughts. I had this conviction, where i decided not to buy CC's, based on the gear/skill levels/non-food eating/non tp calling habits of the few pts i got. It went something like this: why in the hell should i show up to these pt's wearing 5 mil so they can leech off my badass self? It seemed perfectly reasonable at the time, and was in no way based on money issues, as i Can afford CC's. So its not laziness, but ive come to realize that i really Do want the damn things, so i guess ill buy them, because in the longrun, though they may just get me killed even more often, id still more or less just be ripping myself off, and really, by the time i reach lvl 50 ill likely have camped/crafted back the money i spent on them and be eyeing a scorp harness anyway. So basically, that was a hasty declaration based on nothing but disgust for the lazy fucks you mentioned, and really strikes me now as pointless.
But on a side note, imagine this: as a ranger, get an E.Bow, get your strider boots, PCC, etc, then spend 4 days lfg with 0 invites, watching chinese gilsellers with rank 1 lvl 10 subjobs get invites in exactly the same level as you, and then tell me you dont start feeling a little irrational too ^^. granted, the above items are far more pricey than lvl 50 mnk gear, but still, you get the idea. I'm currently camping all campapable nm dropped items my warrior can use and levelling my sub, just a weird hobby. 0/5 on tigerhunter axes atm, got my plantbane and power crossbow from beadeaux, and so on. Gotta come up with inventive ways to spend your time as an lfg monk, and a penny saved is just as good as a penny earned. Not to mention that archers knives and holy phials/mithran scimitars are selling very nicely these days, gotta do Something during the hour repop time. Put your chi-blast to work and for gods sake, if i see 1 more monk wearing that lvl 40 white and blue tunic i swear ill hundred fists them with my spiked club............ (hundred with a staff is seriously at least #2 on my funny-as-hell list in this game).

anyway, that was pointless wasnt it. oh well.

And even so, Cross Counters(3 million) are only marginally (as in, less than 0.4) DPS better than TM Hooks +2 (500k) or Spartan Cesti (1M). Will I get CC's? If I have a spare 3 million lying around that can't go towards a Harness, sure. Otherwise, screw it. I won't lose any sleep over having TM +2 or Spartans instead of CC's.

Yes leveling whm rdm bard is alot more easier than melee jobs.Rdms get parties with nin and war sub too... but a melee wont get a party if hes subbing whm or a drk subbing pld lmao.On the otherhand if u need good armor its gonna take a while. All i gotta say is if someone is 700tnl and u gotta help us then wait for his goddamn level  and then go...

I'll wait usually if I feel like it's not their own fault we didn't get that 700 xp.

If we were in a 2 hour party, and they spent 20 minuts of it afk, didn't use food, had inapproriate and outdated equipment, I can justify that if they had been prepared to serious exp the would have in fact gotten their level. I'm not going to push myself if I really have to go because they don't have their shit together.

ok before i post i just wanna give some warning that i didn't read all 4 pages of replies, i just read enough to give me the gist of the topic and so that I can add in my 2 cents.

First of all I wanna say alanon is without a doubt one of the two best blms that I have partied with, along with Tiya. They are both skilled players who know how to magic burst, how to stun, how to use their mp the wisest and always goes right to the hate limit. They take pride in their equipment, as well they should since they have everthing any blm would every want (all hq items, +int and elemental damage items, etc). I have yet to see them criticize any other player for not having uber equipment, but of course we all notice when a whm dex equipment on instead of mnd and mp haha.

My second point is I agree with the people citing the player > equipment > race bullshit. Why is this bullshit? It's simple. if you think of these three as variables, P for Player, Equipment as E and R for race, then you have the formula

P + E + R = S

where s is skill. well if you increase any of these variables while leaving the others constant you will of course increase S, which once again is skill. So given the same player with the same race, better equipment makes a huge difference, why? because if you're doing 100 more damage per SATA, 200 more damage for mbs, or healing for 50 hp more that will make the pt run more smoothly and xp flow more constantly. I myself had really great gear for most of my career as thf but recently slacked off (no harness or hopoloties harpe yet) because the items are out of my price range atm. But it make it up with skill and equipment macros. Would I be a better player if I had better equipment? Absolutely.

My next point is about any job getting more invites or being easier to lvl.
It is true, certain jobs get invited more often then others. So what? Why are people so hung up on putting up their flags as their gateway to xp? As a thief I learned a long time ago to make my own pts and I have almost never been turned down due to my job. And post lvl 60 and as early as lvl 40 a lot of your invites come as a result of your reputation from previous pts. I can tell you that I remember the names of people who are aweful at their jobs due to lack of skill or really poor choice of equipement and I will put them at the bottom of the list for invites or dont invite them at all. The good players I always look for first. Having certain jobs may get people faster invites but it wont get them to 75 any faster because they still have to put in their hours of killing mobs for xp and every single job out there has a potential of earnign 10k xp /hr, all you need is the right 5 pt mates. There is also no job that guarantees the average 4-5k xp an hr. I can tell you that as a thf i got more blind invites from lvl 65-70 then my ninja friend gets while seeking (and he is the second best ninja i've pted with and is in my static currently). Last time I checked ninjas are the prefered tank for pts 65-75 so go figure.

My next point is the point about one job being easier to play then another job. Thats just too funny. Try saying that to someone who takes pride in their job. In every job there is always more to do then time allows. The skilled players just know what takes priorty. The unskilled players choose to do the very minimum. I will cite examples basd on the jobs I've personally played since I dont like commenting on things I dont know.

Thf - Triggering SATA in time so that u can land it right after pull gets to camp and have another sata ready in less then 10 seconds. Managing your tp so you and your tp partner are ready at the same time and if you gain tp much faster do a seperate ws in between. letting the sata buddy know when your sata is ready so he can take hate so you can land a full sata on the main tank (pre 60), hitting the mob with status bolts before scs especially (equipment change of course ). Changing to acc and speed equipement during regular attacks and chainging to dex/agi/att equipment for ws or acc/dex equipment for multi hit ws. disengaging and pulling the next mob while the rest of pt kills off current mob timed just right so the pull is at camp right after the last mob dies while the mages have the mp and the tank is ready to voke and your sata is ready. I dont know about you but when mobs die in less then a minute, doing all these things constantly is very time consuming.

Whm - Regen main tank, backup tanks, and pullers. Curing. Sharing debuffs with the rdm/brd/blm. Bar spells. Resting during battle for mp when appropriate. Hasting pt members. Erase and other status removers. Easy when the pt is great, hard when pt sux and you're fighting IT++. Still, a lot of spells to throw out in a minute.

BLM - Debuffing. Nuking. Magic Bursting. Resting for mp. Help with removing status ailments. Doesn't sound like much but considering cast time for a lot of spells its very busy work when maximizing damage.

Rng - Pulling. Skill chains. Status debuffs with bolts. Checking sharpshot. Using unlimited shot for ws. Barrage to take hate for full sats mid battle. Using blink after pull while still holding hate for the first sata when pt doesn't have another voker. getting the next mob ready and at camp when current mob is dead. Sounds easy I'm sure, but try pulling, blinking, defense down, and holding hate for ws in the first 10 secs every time and tell me its not hectic.

Nin - status debuffs. elemental debuffs. making sure blinks are always up. holding hate. make sure you set up for sata asap. making sure the backup voker (if any) does die before the first sata. Secondary Ws for skillchains. 3rd ws in 3 part skill chain. magic bursting elemental debuffs.

War - hard to list since duties change when role changes. if tanking as a sub nin its hectic as hell.

These are the jobs that i've played in xp pts, and these are the things I do when playing the job. I'm sure there are other things the job does that i haven't listed mostly because I dont have time to do those also and because I dont claim to be the best at these jobs so i might not do some things due to lack of knowledge. But my point is every job can be kept busy, and the more you do in your job, the more effective you are. Anyone can play a job and afk after engaging, but thats a shitty player, and there are shitty players regardless of jobs.

My last point, and one that probably isn't mentioned in any of the posts but i'll mention it because its related. I hate, HATE it when people come to a pt and say they'll play however they wish to play and wont change for anyone. Thats utter bullshit. When a good pt leader is forming a pt, he adds people to the team based on how they will compliment the current team members. Here are some examples:

If I invite a rdm when there are no whms in the pt i expect the rdm to sub whm so certain whm specific spells like erase are handy. If the rdm refuses to use these spells during battle cuz its "not their job" thats a blistable offense.

If I invite a drk and tell them to sub war to first voke and they refuse to and sub thf instead so they can do extra damage thats a blistable offense.

You are invited to a pt to play as part of a team and to execute a part of the game plan, not so you can be an individual with 5 other individuals who just happen to be killing the same mob. If i notice there is too much downtime and the pt leader tells you not to melee as a rdm or other mage so you can regen during fighting you better do it. If the pt leader asks a whm not to waste mp on bursts because your the one holding up the chains you better do it. If the pt leader tells you not to cast spells or engage the mob till sata is done (due to lack of first voke or cuz the sata buddy has really low defense) you better do it. this is a team oreintated game (unless your a bst) so if you join a team you do what the captain says. Give me any bullshit about how you'll play how you always play or how you want to play and you'll get blisted and disbanded quick.

thats all i gotta say.

Very nice post Ayeka, even though Tiya is all gear, no skill 8) Ok, yea, Tiya is a badass I must admit.

As far as Monks go, I for the longest time despised the job to be honest. I thought they took the easy route by just leveling Monk and Warrior and wearing average gear which is true for most. When I had to pay for ammo, the best gear, level damn near 4 fucking jobs just for RNG/NIN combo and only then would I feel good about my character. I am in no way saying having an "Advanced job" is uber because I have fun leveling with War/Nin and now Mnk/War as long as they have the equips and foods to back it up. The real deals have War, Thf, and Ninja maybe? Leveled for their Monks forall instances with badass gear to boot. As i play with them more and more (the good ones) I love em...I will probably level Monk the right way one day just because I love watching their badass Weaponskills lol.

Thing is, would I invite a Monk? Probably not at my level, I still would rather have a Nin/War, War/Nin, Ranger/Nin, Thf/Nin with a couple mages set up or an all out Rng/Nin cannon party. It is simply what is effective at my level. Maybe if I stop being such a puss and leveled a job post 60 I could see firsthand where Monks truly shine. 8)

Heh, that's the thing, Vang - a dedicated MNK party wants as little to do with a NIN as a NIN tank party wants to do with a MNK. Bone parties need PLDs for Undead Killer, Holy Circle and not having your shadows wiped every 20 seconds by Blood Saber/Black Cloud.

Um...How about:

S = Px0.55 + Ex0.35 + Rx0.10

P is still more important than E. But if P is maxed, raising E will make you a better player.

That's fine, but bear in mind that if you are a great player who plays a taru Blm with decent eq, you are (under your formula) looking at a C+/B- in overall "skill"

yeah seawolf i never put a % on any of the variables. Race is the least important of the equation since at lvl 75 the max difference in any stat is like 10 points only, but then again 10 points of dex is like 80-120 more damage on sata so....and the last time i checked anything that added 10 points to a necessary stat for a job cost more then 5 mil.....kirins osode anyone? "you are unable to buy the Kirin's Osode for 20,000,000 gil...."

Sorry about those Rings Sea

If it makes you feel any better I burned myself as I will have to pick a couple up for my Ninja, thus picking up a set for a million. :?

there are times when making a party is impossible.. there will not always be enough jobs at the right level to make a party.. that's why most will put up flag and wait to see if an already existing party needs you in their group... something nice to have happen... and so the jobs that are more likely to get a party at all levels are BRD, WHM, BLM, and PLD... RDM really doesn't have it easy before 32 (if that)... 41 is where RDMs truly get the invites... but after 41 RDM also has it really easy. That's just how it is. I know the better the equipment the better I am but the only thing right now that I could get that isn't Rare/ex are the HQ staffs to help with MB (working on this..) and a Serket Ring.. (almost 4million now...><) and I don't really have it easy in making money.. but I'm working on it... and hopefully will have those. Not essential for me but I know it'll help so I'm working on it. Without anything to help with MBs other than an Ice Staff I can still do up to 600 damage with a MB.. ^^ it's nice

I’m not sure how at level 45 a RDM has it easy when our Body Armor is 1.5mil.

it is? since when? O.O
