I got my Relic Dagger, I need to buy some coins.

Done with you, play again. I said what I want to say. You have nothing to do with this thread. Stop wasting the people's time.
Edit:
Only morons insist on posting last in an argument.
V Oh look, it's skaw.

Ah the dodge out. The sign of a true loss. Good job.

Cute. I was unaware tactless insults were viable alternatives to responding points brought up to you. Wonderful job.

Why do people do Dynamis? For the challenge, I suppose, but those in it for the challenge are probably going to quit long before they ever get past the 4 main cities.

Dynamis for Relic armor? Very job-dependent. For the 2 jobs I could either do Dynamis with or are leveling to 75 (MNK and SMN) there's really one one slot on MNK I'd want. SMN has a lot of very day and weather specific pieces that might be nice here and there but with Yingyang Robe as something I can get instead that drops the ones I'd want to maybe 2. And for others who'd want pieces, they're likely gone once they win the lot.

Dynamis for profit? Nowadays it's kinda viable. I have no idea how much currency drops in a random Dynamis but I'd assume at least 100 in total. 100*40k = 3 million profit, not to mention synth item drops. But 3 million profit split 40 ways is still only 75k a person. Obviously if you get a lucky run and a few 100 coins drop or something you're going to make a lot more (and you'd know a lot more than me exactly how much currency you get in a single run. However, your 600 million gil/7 months figure would assume you're getting nearly 11 million in profit per run. Does this happen often?) but even at 200k a run most level 75 players have multiple ways to make at least this much for 3-4 hours of their time that won't require them to lose XP. Hell, I can imagine particularly barren runs where the gil/person doesn't cover some people's consumables. For someone like me (and like a lot of other people) if all you can offer me is X amount of gil for my time and effort, why should I say yes when I can make more than what you're asking for much less risk?

Then, finally, you have people who Dynamis to get one person a fully upgraded Relic. The ultimate penis wave, really. And for a lot of hardcore, dedicated players, giving up that 'me first' attitude and seeing one of their own come out with the best this game has to offer gives them warm fuzzies. Am I one of those people? Not really, but then again I'm not one to judge who 'deserves' something like that over anyone else. If someone came up to me and said "Hey, Cubs, if you sponsor all our Dynamis runs we'll get you either a Spharai or a Claustrum!" I'd probably say yes simply because they'd think I was worthy to wield it. I'd never outright tell someone I want something like that, because having a Relic weapon isn't one of my in-game goals.

Yet, anyway.

We see that dedication on other servers. It's why BG has a relic. It's why so many JP shells get one member a relic. I actually think you're going about it the right way, Peregrine, in the sense that I don't think this server has 50 people or so willing to set aside their goals and their wants to be a part of helping a single person rise to the top of the mountain. Everyone's either too proud, too jealous, or too lazy to want that goal. At this point, anyway, I don't think banding together to get one person a Relic is at all a bad thing. Our server doesn't have any NAs with one and, quite frankly, we're behind most every other server when it comes to just getting the shit done that seems commonplace on other servers.

But at least we have a decent economy. Not really the point though.

Would I be a part of someone getting their full Relic? Maybe. I've never had the Dynamis bug bite me, so I couldn't tell you if I'd enjoy it the first time - much less the next 50+ I'd need to do to help them.

Would I be happy if others wanted me to get said full Relic? Absolutely. I'd be honored, overjoyed, want-to-fly-to-your-house-and-hug-you-IRL that a bunch of folks would say "Hey, he should have full Relic." It's a pipe dream, though. I don't think I deserve one simply because I'm not yet satisfied with what I've done in-game. I have a lot more to do, and more importantly, I want to still have fun. I don't want to agonize about how many 1 coins dropped. I don't want to send furious /tells to people who just couldn't make it to the scheduled run.

I think Quetzalcoatl, as a whole, needs to be put on the map as far as other servers go. Kaizen is a good first step. Getting someone, anyone a full relic would be another. Shit, maybe we'll be the first server to beat Absolute Virtue.

I doubt it, but wouldn't that be great? I think I'm ready to take that step away from myself and towards making this server a more respected place.

Sadly, I don't know if anyone's willing or able to follow in step.

The problem is, Cubs. It's not up to just one person to whip our server in to shape. We as a whole have the break the "gimme gimme mine mine" attitude, and realize that this game can only work based off self-sacrifice from everyone and not the people working for you.

Who will it be? Odon? Number one posterchild for a black mage nerf. Decidence? Couldn't be more greedy if he tried. Ellemire? Refuses to pay more than 10k for a coin even after 10k hasn't been the real asking price for almost a half year, and calls everyone else who is operating under market forces...greedy.

Where is our target? None of these people deserve my support. Clearly, none of them. Like I said, none of the NA contenders who are even remotely close to having a relic piece are worth a 500 million gil discount. They're either perpetual abusers, professional scammers, or posterchild beggars.

The JP mentality of getting one person their relic only applies within the JP mentality where 30 people show up every single week, at level 75, when they don't even NEED dynamis armor. I look at kenken's shell, which runs beside mine on saturdays, and I see the mentality that correlates to getting one person one weapon at the expense of months of sacrifice of others.

Then I look at your all's rosters, full of the most seething elitist snots imaginable, and they're the ones you're putting up for relic competency. It's a joke. That's no goal of mine to strive for. I don't play get-an-ass-a-relic.

To be honest, the who right now isn't all that important. Give it to yourself. Give it to me. Give it to Eleibfrid or Flameass or Sabia or some random person in Jeuno who's name was picked out of a hat to be the lucky lotto winner of a relic weapon. No one person is the sole judge of who should get such a weapon. It's something that we, as a community, can decide upon and work towards.

And if you don't like that person? You're not obligated in the least to help them. If by chance Odon or Elemmire or whoever was picked to get the weapon, just don't help them. I'm sure the community would be more than able to find a replacement for any one person playing any one job who doesn't want to help for personal reasons.

The first, and most difficult step, of course, is figuring out if there is such a community on this server. I'm starting to believe that there isn't.

And if that's the case, the next migration cycle may start looking real tempting.

Well, regardless of those reasons, we'd need someone who actually knows what self-sacrifice is, and actually has a leadership quality among them.

I'm not so sure about your second Paragraph, Peregrine. Mariox shows up to everything without an oppurtunistic reward. Really, the only one actually deserving of the stage they're on that I know of.

The people with the same mentality are around, yet often overlooked for just about everything. I know from personal experience. You get tired of busting your ass for people without requesting any personal gain, but in the end, get absolutely no recoginition in exchanging for eating 3 Raise 1s to get someone a set of Carbuncle Miits. But when I ask for help, I might as well be masturbating with a jagged glass bottle most of the time.

I'd be an active member on the Dynamis Scene, if there was a shell I could join that would fit with my schedule, which seems overtly against every one in existance.

Of course there's not that kind of base. There's nothing wrong with there not being a bunch of self-sacrificing lemmings on our side. That's not our culture. That's not what we value. Look at all the modern waves of RPGs. What is a common theme that questions popular mentality of the japanese culture they come from? Look at wild arms II. Tales of Symphonia. They question the worth of sacrifice. Why sacrifice? Is there a point? Is it noble or just stupid? Sacrifice is a part of their culture. It comes off as corny in our culture, because we don't hold sacrifice on a pedestal unless it directly benefits us or unless someone's life is in danger. We don't spend months in dynamis to get someone else all the rewards. And there's nothing wrong with that.

I reward the mentality we are raised to show. It's the elitist asses who don't like my methods of giving back to the general player. I don't try to model a cultural system that just plain doesn't work here. If the JP model is tried on us, you just get leeches leeching people. See: the current way almost all NA dynamis shells are run to the benefit of the few "business-savvy" asses who are clearly only there because they're getting a gross discount. They don't honor the sacrifice of others. It doesn't even enter their minds. They wouldn't dare be one of the general people who they're milking. I would challenge you to find one NA player who would wear the other man's shoes and sacrifice for someone else.

It won't happen, and I would rather build a shell around what our culture can handle rather than to try to apply a foreign concept that will only get people used and abused. I will raffle off coins to my shell members. I will give bonuses to the people with highest attendance. I need to stop using my own gil to pay for runs every week. The rewards of dynamis should not be hung around the neck of some worthless greedy asshat. I will take the gil I get from the runs and make a shell where everyone wins to the best of Dynamis' ability. That is the best way. I will not take some unworthy snot and put them up on a pedestal they don't deserve. If they want that weapon, let them pay what it's really worth for it.

Random people don't upgrade. To you people, the people who deserve the upgrades are the richest on the server. It's the NA mentality corrupting something it doesn't belong in, when there's nothing inherently wrong with the NA mentality. You all are just too dense to use it properly.

so I take it you won't be getting yourself a relic? Good then. You don't deserve one as is in my opinion. And spell my fucking name right.. it isn't hard.. Or atleast just say "Ele". I think anyone with the determination deserves it. I say that the prices are too high and they are. Just cause YOU want to make gil and happy to see them go up doesn't mean everyone else is. Look at several others that post against you on this board. They get upset with your "I demand you accept this price and buy it now!" attitude. I really am getting tired of it. I don't really wish to spend that much for it when I have the patience to wait for years if I must to be done with my relic upgrades cause I don't find coins for a price I'm pleased with for a long time. I have help from several of my friends and LS mates and, though it might not be much at once, it is always appreciated. And so, in return, I do my best to try and help them out with things they do. I set up whatever I can in hopes to get them what they want. Gil, items, etc. I do what I can to get an Alastor Antlion, O.Hat, Uggalepih Pendant, Kindred Seal, or whatever run going so they can get stuff. It's the way this game should be. We should be helping each other even if there isn't something in it for us and others should be willing to help you if they don't get anything cause you will help them. Sadly, as it was stated before, there is too much of this "mine mine mine, me me me" attitude.

Decidence not deserving? I think so. He's working his butt off for it. Crafting and making gil as he can. He might act like an ass from time to time or an "Elitist prick" but that's fine and dandy. He's done a lot for the people he's been around from what I can tell. Organizes and makes things happen in an orderly fashion in BoL. Odon not deserving? he works hard for his gil. Whether you think he's "scamming" people or not is your own opinion, as foolish as it is. Those people didn't have to go.. they chose too. Even then odon has a "equal split" rule which is more than fair, in my opinion. Just cause you provide the orb doesn't mean you should always get what you want. You certainly deserve a share but if another group does the work.. they deserve a share too. Mariox most certainly deserves it. Very helpful and always willing to do so without complaining or asking for something in return. Cythe is extremely helpful. Too many times have I seen him die over and over again.. taking a R1 if he must just to help another person out. Phraust has helped me out in the past and I know he's helped others out even though he's camped some NMs with insane windows almost constantly. Hell.. he pretty much helped Svina run DynamisPants which he did a good job with. Dying over and over again for other people to get the win. Basically.. everyone you think that doesn't deserve it might actually deserve it more than you know (atleast in your standards).

The only thing I think that should really say whether you deserve a fully upgraded Relic Weapon is if you are truly dedicated to do it. No matter what limits there are.. you are dedicated to push beyond them through whatever means you must (though not immoral :P) to achieve the goal of an upgraded relic. The bonus is if those people are willing to help others even if there is nothing in it for them..

You think determination deserves it? You're obviously not determined to actually pay even a fraction of what it really takes to upgrade. Lazy-ass. So much for YOUR determination. I'll be expecting the resignation of your coins over to someone with more determination. You clearly don't want the weapon if you want it so cheaply.

This is what bothers me about you. You are the most self-centered personality on this forum and you don't even know it. You say people who sell coins for more than 10k are greedy. No, they're just not selling to YOU because you're too CHEAP. Greed goes both ways, and you're begging people to give you a 30k discount per coin. Your greed consumes you, but you don't even have the assets. You just beg for things you don't deserve and can't afford.

Let me get the deal straight: I give elemmire 500 million gil discount, and in return she shows up to my o-hat run and "helps out." Oh let me jump right on that "way this game should be." According to you. No surprises there. I'd want the game to be like that too if I were that self-centered.

how about I'm determined to wait out finding the coins with the price I want? that's determination in another form. I don't care about having it "now now now gimme gimme gimme I'll whore myself and my time so I can have it no matter the price!". No.. I don't do that. I set a standard and refuse to move. My determination might not be what you think it is but it is a determination so fuck you. My coins I've earned with the help of others and I'm quite happy to continue along my way.

As for your whole "build a LS around our cultural belief's" kinda thing.. well how about this... OUR CULTURE SUCKS ASS. We have this whole "justice is fair and laws are fair and enforced fairly" thing which is bullshit. Want an example? I know a group of guys that stole maybe.. 100,000 dollars of watches from a jewelry store. They got 20 years in prison with no chance of getting out before then. Remember that emron thing? where one of the leaders was doing a little white collar crime? Ya.. he stole billions upon billions of dollars from people. He got 10 years with chance of getting out like.. 5 years or so. Our culture is basically "hey! you have money.. you are the one in power and obviously always right!". Thievary is looked down upon right? but appearantly if it's a rich person stealing from the poor that's ok compared to a poor stealing from the rich. How about the fact that the money you work for is taxed 33% where the money earned from interest is taxed 28%? think that's fair? Nope.. it's not. Our society is shit and the way we are set up where the rich are right and make the laws causes the poor to become repressed and so anger arrises and more violent crimes become of it. We have such a high crime rate compared to several contries all over the world. Our culture needs to seriously be changed or, in my opinion, should just die out.

Edit: I'm not gonna double post like you jackass so here's an edit.

how about no.. the coin prices go up cause some dumbass buys the coins for an insane price. The seller tells his/her friends and those people, because of greed, decide to sell their coins for that price or even more. Some other dumbass comes along and buys it and does the same of the first and buys for that price. The price goes up and up and gets rediculous. Not many are willing to buy for that price that want to upgrade it. Those that do have more money than they even care to have (so they spend on coins to just make use of it) or they are gilbuyers and have no idea the value of things or they are people approaching the end and just want it done. Guess what, Peregrine, Japanese still sell their 1 coins to other Japanese for 5k still. Perhaps even less. Wanna know why? Because they realized what selfish greedy americans never have.. THIS GAME WAS BUILT AROUND THE COMMUNITY HELPING EACH OTHER. hell.. if it wasn't it'd be like WoW where 99% of the stuff is solo-able. And that "oh she'll show up to one O.Hat" is bullshit. I don't just show up.. I organize it and get people to go. And I do it time after time, week after week, year after year. I have been for years now and gotten nothing from all that I've set up. Not one item. Not even a care that I would get an item. I was more than happy to see the people smile and say such nice things when they got the item and pleased that I helped them out. It never crossed my mind when doing these events that I could get something in return. I never cared. Now, would I like there help now and then? Sure, it'd be appreciated. But I'm not gonna make them give me "500 million gil" kind stuff, you dipshit. I ask them for help with getting a quest done or killing a NM. Selling me coins for a certain price is still their choice. They don't have to sell to me for 5k,10k or whatever. If I don't like the price I tell them I don't want it for that price and they find another buyer. You don't like it? Tough shit. You are getting tiring, peregrine.. by the way.. weren't you gonna leave like.. 10 posts back?

A bum wants a quarter for free. That ain't determination, hun. That's begging. You're not determined to wait it out. You're determined to beg wherever you can. There's a whole auction house thread devoted to just how determined you are to beg your way to a relic upgrade. You're too poor to actually afford it, so you spam the AH board with joke requests of buying coins for 10k. You're no different from someone who offers to buy leaping boots for 250k. You have to be kidding me, but you're not. You're serious. And that's universally pathetic.

Elemmire you don't have the first clue about what others sell others coins for. You're still stuck in your fantasy world where people still "reasonably" sell coins for 5k. You don't have the first clue who is buying coins for 40k. I already told you who the buyers are. You just can't read. They're japanese players. Not sellers. Japanese don't sell to japanese for discount. Traditionally JPs have had to pay double what NA population has.

What, you didn't know that? This is what annoys me about qcdn. You all don't have a clue. The JP double standard has bitten JP's in the ass when it comes to ancient coins. They have historically paid DOUBLE what you ever have. Fact. You have no idea what jp's charge jp's, so you assume some sad little japanophile assumption that they're all about helping each other out. In fact, FYI, they hold each other to higher standards. When you paid 5k per coin, they were paying 10 and charging each other 10. This is common knowledge.

Again, you calling people greedy for selling for more than 10k. What a lame stance. I have what others want and pay for. Market forces, babe. To sell for anything less would be stupid. How convenient it is for you to suddenly throw market-based economy out the window when it serves you best. We'll take economics over elemmire's opinion, thanks.

People who sell for more than 10k are greedy...it's like you all don't even read what you type.

omg you are such a dumbshit. I don't go around begging people for anything. I get told "I have some coins" and I tell back "how much?". They make the choice of the price. Some are kind enough to give for a low price or even free, others want more. If they want more than I care to pay for it then I tell them so and they find another buyer or they lower the price. The AH post is mostly just to let them know who is out buying (atleast 3 of us) and what we are willing to pay. It's like all the other posts, peregrine, you don't like it? shut the fuck up and don't bother. It's not your right to say "ZOMG YOU HAVE TO PAY 40k CAUSE THE PRICES ARE THAT IN BATALLIA DOWNS!!!". How about you shut up for once and let people do their transactions the way they choose, mkay? You don't have a right to say "Hey! you can't buy this cause it's not worth the extra 2mil gil!" or "Hey! you have to pay this ammount cause it is at this price now D:" (seems kinda contradictory in my opinion). You have the right though to say "I think you should try and settle for this price because *blah blah blah* but it is your choice". That's right.. MY choice. You can call me a begger cause I choose to wait out getting my coins.. even if it's just because I get 2 coins per dynamis run I do.. is that begging? no.. because I always help out and do my best in the dynamis areas (depending on the LS rules, pay to enter). I do everything a RDM is wished to do and more. I keep all the summons and pets I encounter slept (and pets silenced). And I keep people cured as fast as I can. I also will grab a stone if there are too many and kite kill it cause a RDM can do that in not too long. And, most importantly, I show up at all the times I am available (basically I show up all the time unless a RL emergency comes up cause I schedule my time so I can be there) and help.

actually.. I do know what a lot of the Japanese sell at because I have friends in Japanese LS that either 1) are JP or 2) know JP so well that the JP don't know they aren't. How do you know that they pay double what NA pay? that's bullshit cause they don't. They actually do help each other out. That's bullshit if you think otherwise. Some JP were willing to pay more out of curtousy if they could but most were given a nice discount and still are. How about you stop with these "facts" that you are pulling out of your ass and start shutting the fuck up in these threads about dynamis coins you have no control over. Somehow, I think you are just too pissed off that people are out there able to get coins for the prices that aren't what you think they should be buying them at. You seem to believe that you are the master of prices and setting things at a price that should be and everyone should listen to you and do as you say like good little conformist sheep. I don't give two shits about your beliefs at this point. I might read what you say and consider it but in the end I make the choice of how I spend my gil and how much I am willing to pay for something and how I am willing to get my items.

Number one reason no one should let you post on the Auction House board about dynamis coins. You don't have what it takes. You are not a player in this field. You are of no consequence. No one cares that you're asking to buy coins for 5k. I get 2 coins per dynamis run and I don't have to beg 24/7 on forums while calling everyone else greedy. No, you're just that cheap and insignificant a force in this equation. It's annoying to see the proposition even come out of your mouth, as if anyone actually thinks you're worth rallying behind. Keep on truckin. **** do I have more coins than you? I stole 3 the other day.
