Illegal Immigrants, support or against?

So its okay for some whiney brat to up and think the WHOLE COUNTRY should change the way it exists to not "offend" them? Fuck that. That's bullshit. And I don't complain I can't "marry" actually, research up a bit and know I'm actually AGAINST gay "marriage" as "marriage" is a religious joining of two people. I just figure civil unions should be taken more seriously. Thanks~
I thought you were a lesbian? Why would you be against gay marriage? (No, this isnt a joke. Im serious)

That's a minority perspective. Get the fuck out.

Shaidalyn said:

Yes, it's OK for them to think and express this. To actually force these changes via bullshit lawsuits is another matter altogether. I'm an atheist and you'll never find a bigger critic of my whiney brethren who start shedding tears every time someone mentions Jesus.

I'd guess Michael Newdow, who is a whiney cunt.

I agree where that comes from, but a distressing number of people around here (I live in the Bible Belt, somewhere near the third notch) completely buy into that every year. How big can one religion's persecution complex get?

And Neyla nailed it, Shaidalyn: a self-professed lesbian like yourself should be more familiar with the idea of the minority needing protection from the tyranny of the majority.

sorry to double post. and no. I live here and am pleased with how the nation is/was.. not where it's going though. Leftists are too disgusting to tolerate. Bush is an -idiot- but I'd take a coke-addict chimp over Kerry so I think that went well.
I'm not saying round up minorities and shoot them, I'm saying they should be treated the same as anyone else. Just because there's LESS doesn't make them special. So what, I'm a lesbian, guess what? I am a normal american. I am not "special" I am not "above" anyone else in this country. These gay pride marches disgust me.. Not because I am ashamed but because I know if there was a straight pride one they'd be sued.

I don't like double standards, regardless who it favors. While I don't agree with most people, I do not find myself "above" them or them as "inferior" just some are uneducated, some prove me wrong. I believe in "equal and the same" minorities like to have "equal, but different" which is bull.

I hate PC+1ing but.... I mentioned it in my post.. I feel "marriage" is a religious thing, so does 90% of the country... why should the minority tread on the majority? Just up civil-union. I don't need "Marriage" in the word. Double standards.. No thanks.

TN here, more churches than gas stations, same schtick. With as many impressionable morons out there it's somewhat comforting to know most are at least lazy enough to stay away from the polls -.-

"marriage" is not only a religious joining. In fact it's rather important to the government for tax purposes and in that respect is seperate from religion entirely as a government institution. Personally i could care who marries who so long as it doesn't involve me and a 5th of jack i don't much care, most of america doesn't care ... this is also the part of the population that doesn't vote or speak out over things.

Gay marriage is an issue because gay folks have trouble procreating naturally and as such cannot make future taxpayers, simple as that. You can go around and around the why of it all till you're blue in the face but that's the brass tax of it. Future tax revenue > political/religious scruples.

I agree with the double standards bit wholeheartedly, however the idea of minorities is outmoded at this point. For there to be a minority there has to be a majority and there's a ever increasing vaccum in that spot ... about the only qualifying group now would be a group of rich white men 65+ that can count themselves as a minority.

Strange fact: 90% of america either haven't been polled or wont answer a poll on this issue or any other for that matter.. the numbers all depend on which pundant you happen to be watching on the news.

Illegal? I don't think so. Freedom of religion says "Fuck you" in that. It's a holiday where 90% of the country is SHUT DOWN. Show me the law that states having a religious display is illegal on public property.

And the Hitler bit, was a bit much.. Get the fuck out of here with that nonsense. Hitler was insane, he's a one in a billion freak.
Fact remains, this country was founded by christian beliefs, fuck yourself on the intriquicies. You don't like the Crucifix up on a hill to memorialize dead soldiers? Turn the fuck away. (look up the big issue down in Cali that recently went by due to some athiest moron) This country cares too much about making the minorities happy and fucking the majority, that's the problem. Should stop worrying so much about the bullshit whiney fucks who don't like how the county was made. If this country is so terrible in its ways and leadership... Get the fuck out. Period. Move to some other GREAT country like Mexico or France.

what are you, the lesbian devil spawn of anne coulter's cooch? bitch, get a clue and get over yourself. The first ammendment guarantees freedom of religion. Setting up certain faiths displays on PUBLIC property is illegal. If it wasnt illegal, why did the federal government make them take down that monument of the 10 commandments in alabama. please, dont argue when you dont have a leg to stand on.

As for the country was founded on christian beliefs... WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. here is a link to the constitution which is what our country is founded on. Show me where it says christianity

http://www.law.emory.edu/FEDERAL/usconst.html

And again, here is the first ammendment of the bill of rights. notice it says nothing about christianity.

Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Now, it seems to me that you are the one that isnt happy with the way our country is. maybe you should get the fuck out.

As for the hitler comment, and u better answer this, but where did i say anything about hitler?

Now, are you too stupid to read or what? I don't think so cause you seem more intelligent than many of the dribble mouth retards I argue this with.

Now show me where it says it's illegal to place a display for the public?
Putting it up, is a symbol of acknowledgement. When I worked over Christmas time, I said "Merry Christmas" while others said happy holidays.. if you get offended? Tough shit. I'm not gonna bend over backwards for some athiest or muslim or anything else.
Guess what? I say happy (insert ANY holiday) here if it's convenient. Saying "happy holidays" is homoginized mediocrity at it's best. I won't be apart of a communist culture.. I'll speak "Merry Christmas" and still say "Happy Hanukkah" when it's appropriate.. I will wear my lill Santa Hat for christmas too.. I will wear bunny ears for Easter. if it "offends" you, look the other way.
By law, they CANNOT force them to take it down, as per YOUR quote.. Chew on that.

And it was Trippy who felt it important to point out Hitler was christian.... yeah, well let's compare religions, put Christians against Muslims in their practice any day.

And before you bitch about the witch trials.... compare numbers. Also take into consideration catholicism is a single branch, and at one point killed christians, so don't give me that crap either ~.^

this is the part that answers your question. If you allow any religion to put up w/e they chose on PUBLIC land, that is indeed a form of endorsment.

Then explain how places have the minorah?(sp) in the windows for me, or how they have to teach about ALL religions in school?
If people are too stupid to choose a religion without the help of a billboard I highly doubt they are a functioning member of society and therefor have no voice to bitch about it. I put up without enough anti-christian propaganda here in NY, but HOLY SHIT if you say a Muslim is a sand-..... or a mobile bomb... you get sued.. but hey they can call us whatever they want ^.^

No, if an establishment wishes to put up a christmas tree, by law the government cannot make them take it down.

In fact, you wanna fuck with that? How about in some areas the schools BANNED wearing christmas stuff to school.. That's a DIRECT violation of the first amendment.... Funny how the left shoves laws away when they don't agree but are SOOOOOO quick to jump all over the bullshit wagon when it suits them.

Note: you're not whinning about religions, you're whinning about what the people in power of those religions do at any point in time. It's really not fair to play the big dick game with religions as everyone's just about as dirty as everyone else ... save bhuddists, i'd assume.

Any group has the ability to either petition or request permits to make a public display, this is not endorsement; it's law in action, civil obedience wether it be for the cause of civil disobedience or not the government is bound to allow for these demonstrations provided the correct channels are gone through.

What seperation of church and state means is that no group gets preferential treatment from the government based on religion/ethnicity/sex/orientation/etc, end of story. Unfortunately it's a crock of bullshit these days.

And they don't make private institutions take it down, just government buildings and places that receive government money. If private businesses stick to "holidays" or don't put up trees, it's their business to reach out to the largest customer base possible.

I would assume you mean privately owned business/home windows that display the holiday symbols of choice, if you need me to expound past that you are truly lost in this conversation.

Don't know about anyone else here but they didn't teach me shit about ANY religion that wasen't pertinent to historical data in school.

So it's a pre-requisite of being intelligent to take a narrowminded path on religion? wow... agnostics and deists = non-functioning members of society, yea... ok crazy lady.

Everything else was pretty much bang on save the last paragraph. Your implication is that this issue sprung up and was jumped on opportunisticly by the left. Do your homework, right wing controversy sensationalism at it's best which of course predictably caught the attention of the ACLU which intern served it's usual function of making the "leftist" or as i prefer to be called "passive" americans look horrible by association.

Edit: somewhat on and off topic ... so i have a kid and all and alot of people in my family are pressing the whole learning spanish thing via some of the educational shows there are out there for him to watch ... this makes me uncomfortable, on the one hand being multi-lingual is good for the kid .. on the other the only reason it's an issue is because less and less spanish speaking immigrants are learning english and both left and right wing are pussies when it comes to declaring english as the national language. I'd feel alot better about it if i could find a kid's show on telemundo teaching spanish kids how to speak english but that shit just ain't happening, wtf?

SPEAK ENGRISH!

In schools, children are forced to learn about the muslim religion now. Look it up, I'd walk out if I was still in school. I was taughtas you said, if it was pertinent to something in history, now they shove it down kids' throats.

And no, I meant like the post office, which had EACH holiday represented in it's window this past year.

*EDIT* based on Mokk's edit.. up in one of the states (I'm tired, I'll give you the name if you haven't heard already) younger school children are getting a mandetory spanish class ^^ Isn't that swell?

Was unaware, it's certainly not compulsory here in TN. Without some kind of direct proof of compulsory religious teachings in school i'm gonna call bullshit on the national level and say it must suck living where you do.

This is not preferential treatment, it is all inclusive. Lodge a protest next time and see how long it takes to dim the windows.

I think you are misunderstanding me when i say public. I dont mean in public view. I mean on land or facilities controlled by the government. I dont see any minora's or halals (muslim symbol w/ the moon) in front of any federal courthouses. I do see some people attempting to put up the 10 commandments tho. this is what i am arguing against. I absolutly think you should be able to wear a santa hat and put up a tree on your property, your business' property. but not on land controlled by the government.
