I tend break down my view of people's gear into about 5 categories, from highest to lowest: Best, Good, Par, Sub-Par, and Gimp.

All I really need to see is Par. If you've got Par gear, and you know what the hell you're doing, it won't bother me that you can't necessarily land the last 100 points of damage to make your WS truly powerful, or that you will occasionally get resisted on your enfeebles, or what have you. You're average, and while that's not especially good, it's hardly bad either.

Gimp gear, no matter how well you do your job, is pretty much an excuse for me to kick you in the event that I made the party, and never party with you again if I did not. And by that I mean that if I get invited to a party that you're already in, I'll drop immediately and explain why to the party leader.

Gimps make my partying experience less enjoyable, and I don't really see why I'd have to put up with it. If I accept the invite, get to the camp, and suddenly realize that you suck to some unimaginable degree, I'll tough it out for a while before I leave for the sake of the other people in the party, but chances are that I won't bother finding myself a replacement. I don't want to inflict an unenjoyable party on someone else, after all.

lmao are you honestly resorting to profanity now? Last i checked you sported blueberry gear as well :\ . I mean Diabolos earring. If he can get his BB surely he coulda earned his Brutal as well.

Yes, I wear some of the "Purple Paladin" gear...guess what...This character has only existed for 6 months...I think I'm doing pretty freakin' well for having played that little. I've just gained lotting rights in my Dynamis shell too.

You know, you're the one that sounds like the elitist here...don't you understand that? You're here calling him gimp when he's got much MUCH better gear then the guy Jo's calling gimp.

I mean c'mon...you just say anything you want without having any real way to back it up.
 
This is the worst debate ever. You don't expect people to ding into the best gear in the game. If someone's first haidate job dings 75, it's asanine to expect them to have one when they ding 75. Any shell that would give a haidate to someone before they could equip it when other members already can is going to piss off their members. I don't expect people to ding into adaberks, ridills, black belts, haidates, etc. That doesn't make them gimp. Gimp is wearing a sipahi jawshan at 75, or xping with fang necklaces and fang earrings.

I always find it amusing to see two absolutely contradictory statements *right in a row*.

Also, your standards of "properly geared" are rather absolute-ist with no real consideration that things come from different sources. For example, someone in an LS that has a busy HNM-camping schedule may have little difficulty nabbing a Black Belt, but may have a hell of a time scheduling CoP runs to get sea access for Brutal Earring (you do know that you need sea access before you can get even pure-ancient beastcoin items, right? :P).

Does their lack of a Brutal Earring mean that they *could* get one right that moment but have chosen not to? You don't know that unless you know the person and their circumstances. And from your tendency to come to a judgment quickly and spew out a venomous post on the subject (see more flameboard topics than I care to recall, for examples), I kinda get the impression that you don't much bother finding out these details. Could be wrong here. :P

Anything that's not strictly AH-buyable (and thus by definition available to *anyone*), you can't just say "well you should have this or you can't criticize someone for anything else", because different people will have different amounts of time to put into different activities.

Note: I don't personally know either of you, but I can still observe your posting habits and behavior, not to mention the general logic and perspective (or lack thereof) shown in your posts, and form opinions based on them.

Again ill repeat it for you dude, I Do not like people who cap on others when their gear isn't very good as well ^^.

Prime example is the 5 threads, 2 of which Mis reposted here, 2 of which jojojo created. Where jojojo caps on others for gear they are wearing. If you really wanna cap on others gear, bring it upon yourself to wear the best gear. If you dont have the best gear, then don't cap on others. If you notice the only times i really cap on Jojojo instead of ignoring what he writes is when he caps on others and tries to bring them down. There are probably times i've just plain capped on him too, but for the most part i do so because of the "Gimp calling"

As for PLD gear, end game paladin you'd be much more successful at tanking w/ AFbody and M Head/hands since you are in Divinity.

Btw, im not an elitest ^^, I dont talk shit about "Gimpness" w/o real provocation IE being a retard.

Meriting in ruby rings, coral earrings, narasima vest, martial axe, rune axe, not having destroyers etc.

I dont care if someone has coral earrings at 65, but at 75 they should be upgraded by then. I dont care about NQ amemet at 65, but you gotta have HQ, even foragers by 75. Ruby rings dont rub me the wrong way as much, but I shouldn't see you 3 months later without flames/acc rings.

BTW I do use AF1 when tanking gods sometimes, and Divinity just got our first Kirin kill yesterday! {Congratulations!}

Me not making fun of Jojojo will not bring down his need to bring others down based on their gear in the flameboards lol. Will me saying I wont make fun of him anymore if he stops creating stupid flames stop him? Honestly? Because thats the only reason i say shit about him :\

Grats on kirin btw ^^ i honestly thought divinity killed more than just 1 heh.

It's not that...I just believe that most of the time Jo has pretty good reason to rag on peoples' gear. I don't make threads about it most of the time, but he's justified.

Oh, and we tried to kill kirin a couple months ago, but pretty much had him in a deadlock...This time another shell was there so we helped them out and they helped us, but honestly we could've done it without them.

Only D body dropped, lol.
 
Minor point on Flame Ring vs Ruby Ring: If you're a DRK, using a Scythe... wouldn't Flame Rings be bad vs Ruby Rings? 2 points more STR, aye, but -4 MND strikes me as a bit of a losing proposition when all your WS have a MND modifier...

There's nothing "gimp" about adaman gear when it's your first job to 75.

Nothing particularly gimp about Adaman in xp for any reason really. Sure, it's not as good as some other pieces, but all the good PLD xp (and HNM, for that matter) pieces are all rare/ex for the most part, and usually represent a fair amount of time invested, between Sky, HNMs, Limbus and whatever else is required for the given pieces.

Exactly, and since most Endgame activities require 73+ PLD, it's folly to think that not having this stuff is gimp for a PLD as his highest level job.

Some drks like to use Aqua Ring (str+2 mnd+5) for Guillotine which I always thought was kinda lol. mnd kinda affects guillotine dmg but not as much as str does since not only is it a modifier but it also just increases dmg in general. For me personally, I use Raja's and Divisor Ring for Guillotine. If you don't have Raja's then I would just use Flame anyway despite the slight -mnd hit. It's probably best to use a +acc ring too but I suppose you could do 2x +str rings if you want. That gets into the whole balance of acc vs str and such and isn't really in the scope of this topic.
 
I think im going to have to agree with jyak on this one. Jojojo you have flamed multiple people for being gimp, when last I checked you...your gear gave me a "lol".

You act as if obtaining a BB suddenly put you up in the veteran catagory, when in reality your still average. In my eye's your still no better than a brown belt monk.
