Lame. As. Shit.

What I don't get is how noone is mentioning the real life item. To be honest if I was gonna spend £25 on an item it would not be an in game one. The in game item is more of a plus.

This item would be a much more attractive to me if it worked outside the cities. I like cheap, non-warp cudgel methods of leaving areas. The pendant is cool, but I'm not much of a jewelry person.

If I were going to buy a real-life item to get an in-game item, it'd be that Final Fantasy XI Piano Collection that earns the big freakin' harpsichord for your moghouse.

You know for some people, $50 isn't really that big of a deal. I spend more than that every week on DVDs. I bought the necklace because for me it's cheap and it's something collectible. Was I expecting a game-breaking super amazing item? Not really. Am I going to be satisfied with the product when it arrives? Yup. Do I give a shit if other people think it's a waste of money? Not at all.

I completely agree on this statement.
As an avid anime and gamefan myself I've paid way more than that for collectibles.

However I am european and have some big expenses coming up next year so no pendant for me.

Hi-

Apprently you need some glasses or something:

1.
Untitled-2-3.png

Auster's Robe

2.
Untitled-1copy.png

Tidal Talisman

Aside from similar colors I HARDLY think its an "Auster's Robe Reskinned."

Congratulations on making an utterly retarded flame.
Thanks for doing this for me, I was just about to do it. I was like... wtf? It does not look like Auster's Robe....

My friend was actually gonna buy me one and I was gonna buy her one. She don't even play, she don't even know what Final Fantasy is. She just saw me looking over at it. She liked the look of the RL item and the only reason we both did not buy each other one was because EU not allowed.

It's like £25 (UK) that's like nothing you making it a huge deal and the title explains this thread. Lame. As. Shit.

Also thanks for stealing my line, since I said this to you before you posted it <.< lol. I would buy the RL item and the game item for $50, it's not that much money truthfully. If it was just the game item, then it would be a different story. The game item is just a plus to it anyway. You are not buying the game item and getting a RL item.

I don't think it looks amazing, but it looks decent and is not a "Reskin" of Auster's Robe, or BRD AF. It's rather close in colors though.

50 bucks is nothing. lol I'd have bought one just cause I could but sadly SE doesn't deliver to Canada. The assholes.

Yea...you're buying a cheap piece of jewelry for $50. Add to that the development team that got assigned to the new 'in-game' item...which was probably a group of 4 newbies to the team as their first 'real' work...basically, you get what you pay for.

Spend RL money to enhance your gaming experience.
OR
Spend RL money for an item in-game.

Either way:

SE like making themselves look like tools, don't they?

I myself am a very avid ff pendant collector. From ff7's Cloud's Wolf insignia, the Lionheart, the kingdom hearts symbol, and the ZanarkandZ, I've got m all.

Sadly...

50 bucks is nothing. lol I'd have bought one just cause I could but sadly SE doesn't deliver to Canada. The assholes.

Article 3: Prohibited Activities and Indemnification
3.1 Prohibited Activities.

You may not use the Game or PlayOnline for any activities that are illegal, immoral, fraudulent, or a violation of the rights of any third party. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the following acts and activities are strictly prohibited and shall, without prejudice to any other rights or remedies that SEL may have, be cause for immediate termination of your PlayOnline account and your right to play the Game (or any other services) in connection therewith:

Any activities consisting of selling, purchasing or exchanging "gil" or any other currency that may be used in the Game from time to time, characters, and/or Game items for value (including, but not limited to, any payment in kind and any payment in any currency recognized as legal tender in any country, state, territory or other jurisdiction anywhere in the world) through any means or venue, including, without limitation, Internet auctions or other online exchanges; but it's ok if you spend RL money in order to obtain item used in the Game because it's from us.

i don't have mine yet either. YEAH I BOUGHT ONE!!!!

has anyone seen an NA player with this on. i think only JP's have it so far cause they got it faster.

Do people forget that the ingame item is the EXTRA part?

You're paying 50$ for the actual necklace. You just get a code so your character gets one too.

People are rather dense nowadays

SE supporting RMT it's okay as long as they do it right! ::sarcasm::

I still think it's funny that everyone's acting like this is a new thing as well. Those moogle caps have been around for years. You paid money to get into the convention where you got the cap. That's literally the exact same thing as this necklace only the "experience" you are paying for is a piece of jewelry rather than entry into a convention. Nobody bitched about those hats that I saw and it's a lot more useful of an in-game item than this thing. WTG, complainers.

FFXI merchandise isn't my cup of tea. A little necklace that looks kinda funky doesn't tickle my pickle, but everyone likes what they like. I just find it rather amusing that SE will make an active effort to stop people from spending real money to enhance their gameplay, and then bring out and item that can ONLY be obtained by spending real money - surely I'm not the only one to see the contradiction...

I never knew how you got the moogle caps of w/e, hence this being where I brought this up. I saw someone with it equipped, looked up how to get it, then chuckled at the irony of having to spend RL money to get it, when SE "tries so hard" to stop people spending real money on in-game items/gil or whatever. It seems like a bitch-fit about nothing, and I honestly don't have a problem with any of this shit, I just find the hypocrisy of "fighting RMT (real money trading)" VS. an item only obtainable by buying something IRL.

That works if there's another way to obtain said item. This item is only obtainable if you spend $50. There's no getting around it, and there's nothing "dense" about anyone finding this slightly bemusing.

You are NOT bidding on a character.
You are bidding on a postcard with my login information on the back.
Ah, I love Ebay sometimes.
