Lost Odyssey official thread

How can you hate the system that has some of the best game(s) ever made on it?

(That being Psychonaughts/Fable/Kung Foo Khaos.)

You smoke entirely too much crack sir. The Xbox had like, 0-1 good exclusives for it. I honestly can't remember a single game I ever wanted to play that was an xbox exclusive. I would even say that the GC was a much much better system than the original xbox.

Xbox had the same amount of good exclusives, so i'm just going to assume that you didn't play any of the games i listed. That pretty much means your opinion is void. Especially if someone like you hasn't played psychonaughts.

Um...
DoA3
Oddworld
Fable
Halo
Halo2
PanzerDragoon
Project Gotham
Project Gotham 2
Crimson Sky
Phantasy Star
Brute Force
Kingdom Under Fire

And these are just some of the game i enjoyed for my Xbox. No way it could blow out the compettition at the time... The others all had a 15 year lead? lmao. But to say there were no good games makes ya sound like an asstart...

i completed the game a few days ago and am very pissed that if you save your game after you beat gongora on your normal save file that you have to start over on disc 1 at level 50 and you cant go back and explore or get all the other cool stuff.
Luckily i had a second save file...tho my chracters are 10 hours behind my main save file on that one but its better than starting completly over.

I bought the game this past Wednesday, but I've been so sick with the flu that I didn't pick it up until today, and I've only played for about an hour and a half. I love how unrushed everything feels, it is a huge contrast to the last FF game, and thank god for that. I already feel more connected to the characters, and the 1,000 Dreams sequences are excellently emotional. The only battles I've done so far were the ones in the beginning sequences, but I found out I really do miss the turn-based style.

This feels more like a FF game than FFXII, isn't that sad?

Oh, and I'm so glad Uematsu was the composer, his music is unrivaled.

Got it yesterday and am on second disc now. I hope the whole game isnt as short as the first disc else im going to be through with this by like Sunday.

Well it depends, if you do extra side quest that has story elements in it you will take over 60 hours to completely beat the game. Took me about 80+ hours to clear it all and I still hadn't unlocked ultra class in the basement.

If your running straight story you will take over 30 if you know your way through the maps well. Because part of this game is getting lost in dungeons and I don't use strategy guides to find my way through. The longest disc is disc 3 imo and man is it long with all the CS alone.

Disc 2 is really short, disc 3 is the longest. Disc 4, you'll have the option to do pretty much every side quest, which will make this game go for 60+ hours. Without doing any sidquest, the game still takes about 30-35 hours to complete. Also, lol take the time to enjoy some of the other stuff in the game.

Sadly, I'm having a rough time with that first boss on the mountain. The one that looks like a dragon. Everyone in my party is level 14 (and I had to do some extra hunting to get them that far) and Kaim has about 600HP. The dragon hits for over 200 HP every round, or 300+ on it's Down Gust attack on everyone.

I guess I'll just keep hunting around and trying to level up, but I do find it weird that they would put a monster that hits so hard right in the beginning of the game.

My advice. Just heal with Seth and Kaim. Only have Jansen deal damage.

He took me 3 attempts.. wait for the SECOND !! yay ;p

I never considered dealing ele dmg with jens BUT Kaim has good atk... and it depends if you have skill linked all kinds for Kaim and Seth.

haha

He only used Downburst once at the beginning of the fight, and my characters still had full health and everything at the end of the fight.

Are all boss battles all based on the luck of the dice rolls?

I'm on my 5th attempt haha...

He just used Down Burst on me three times consecutively. Wipe.

Yeah I got the Down Burst on attempt one and two, my third go he just did a poison melee a couple times and I bent him over and he met his maker.. or something like that ^^

So far I am seriously digging this game, it has been SOOO LONG since I've played a damn good turnbased RPG, I have been yearning for one. The story line has been awesome eh. The dreams.. I have read each one aloud throwing in witty voice over and accents and man what a fantastic read.

Completely in agreement here. I am thoroughly enjoying everything I've seen so far.

No bosses after that get slightly easier. I beat that first boss at level 12 on second attempt by having jansen seth raise each other with stall tactics. Bosses after are more find the weakness kinda deal. Most have a flaw or secret you need to expose.
