was he the one who hit his face on his own knee on the way down? i cant remember.

Yeah that was him. I did not see that head kick coming at all lol. Pretty good UFC overall, kinda sucks about the Mir fight though. Just have to wait a little longer i guess. And I hope rampage knocks Rashad the fuck out. Glad Carwin won, that dudes a beast.

yeah i felt bad for that dude... kick to the head then a chin shot on the way down. i cant wait for jackson vs evans.

Sucks, although he shouldn't have been a dumbass. Went to UFC.com too and apparently Machida is gonna fight Evans now at UFC 98. Don't get why the made such a big deal about the winner of UFC 96 going on to face Evans only to then pick Machida anyways, although I like this better. I think Machida is a beast, but Evans will be a good matchup.

if machida can stay away from him he has a good chance to win. but rashad is quick, but it will be a great fight.

They wanted to have Rampage face him, but since it is only 2 months away, Rampage decided he didn't want to take the fight due to lingering injuries in his hand and jaw. So since he passed it up, Machida was given next.

I'm curious what gameplan the Jackson camp comes up with for Machida.

So you think Machida is gonna beat evans? I think he can.

Also I wonder what they're gonna do for UFC100. I'm pretty sure they said the Lesnar/Mir fight will be at 100, but what else is gonna be on the card i wonder.

I thought I heard a rumor about a GSP/Silva Super fight but I may just be hoping/imaging that :D.

That'd be sick, although not so much if Leitas wins at 97, kinda doubt it but you never know. Also I'm guessing the Penn/Florian fight will happen as well as Mir/Lesnar so theres 3 sick fights. I'm sure the rest will be badass as well.

Yea I think Machida can beat Evans. It looked like Forrest was outstriking Evans for awhile during their match and there is no way Forrest has better standup game than Machida. It will probably be a decision for Machida.

The fightcard for UFC100:

Hopefully that complaint Bj's camp filed on GSP won't end up taking him off the card.

Sick, nice fight card. Damn there are some good fights coming up. Doubt leitas will do shit but I want to see Silva go down, i want machida to kick evans ass, good to see liddell fright again, see Thiago take out GSP and just see the Mir/Lesnar rematch which, I kinda want Mir to win but I wont be disappointed if lesnar wins either. MN ftw.

i dont think thiago will be able to take gsp down. i know he walked through hughes but i still dont see it happening. only person i see takin silva down is maia. i dunno bout liddell yet... i kinda hope he wins but i also think he needs too get his ass kicked again so then maybe he will change up the way he fights. people have figured out how too beat him now. and holy crap... if they actually do have the fights in portland i think imma go, they were scheduled to have them there before but it got changed.

Well I'm upset to see Liddell come to his end. I suspect one more fight to announce his retirement. I had to step outside after his defeat because I saw his disappointment as soon as it ended and well I'm still a chick and it would have upset me further. Guess the Ice Man needs to be put on ice.

FUCK and he even entered with Reign in Blood for crying out loud! He should have wiped the floor with his face!

The Silva / Leites fight was fucking boring. As I've said before, I know these guys can't very well rush in and risk getting knocked the fuck out. Especially considering the opponents skill level, but give me a break. Leites annoyed the hell out of me. Dropping and rolling on his back umpteen times presenting himself for the taking. As if he didn't get the clue Silva didn't want to play in the sand box after the first 5 times. Silva and his cocky showboating is getting to me too. He's done a fair bit of arrogant dancing his last couple fights and it's just not necessary. We all know he's a phenomenal fighter, so why the Ali? I know the man gets bored, and he's probably trying to get a rise from his opponent to spice up the battle. Then again he could just be having a little fun. Still a shitty show. Leites was obviously intimidated by Silva and yet Silva still played safe. Leites was barely offensive.

It's safe to say Silva didn't much like the crowd in Montreal. After the 5th and the first answer to Joe Rogan he went to walk right out the octogan...

I can just imagine though, those seats cost anywhere between $400 - $800 to watch SUCH a shitty show. Wonder if there will be a riot tonight.

The best fight by far imo tonight was Sam Stout vs Matt Wiman. Although it looked like Matt wiman was on coke, or something. He certainly looked a strange character. It was close, and an argument broke out over who should have won the decision. I think the right call was made though. IT was close by the end of it, but Matt didn't do quite enough in the 3rd to sway a winning decision imo.

Well. I expect to see GSP vs Silva very soon. GSP will probably take him. They're pretty evenly matched BUT.. after seeing the Silva isn't used to going the distance (not that he tired), he played it safe. GSP will capitalize on that. His stand up is just as superior and the man can dominate the ground game too.

I am kind of sad to see Chuck retire. I have never been a fan of him really, but I respect what he has done in MMA. On the other hand I am really happy for Shogun to take the TKO win. I was always a big Shogun fan when he fought in Pride and was disappointed in his UFC fights. I'm not going to say he is back to top form yet though, since it is pretty obvious Chuck isn't really his old self anymore.

For the Silva and Leites fight... Silva is really one of my favorite strikers in MMA, but its apparant he relies too much on countering. It didn't seem like he would have anything to worry about from Leites on the feet other than getting a clinch or a body lock and getting taken down, so I think he should have pressed it more and thrown some more hand combinations. Especially when Leites was against the fence.

Although Leites with his guard pulling was really lame. He can't expect someone to just lay in his guard like that when he is known to be a dangerous bjj player... Leites needs to work his wrestling or at least get a hold of the guy before he pulls guard instead of flopping down to the ground like that if he is going to rely on his bjj that much.

If GSP makes it through Alves (I don't really see why he shouldn't, although Alves is a pretty tough guy) I would like to see him and A. Silva. I've never been really impressed with GSP's standup. He has some quick strikes and can pull off some neat little things like superman jabs, but he doesn't really have the power to knock people out on their feet. If he gets the TKO it is usually from his GnP. So I think A. Silva would be have the advantage there. Once again GSP's great wrestling would come into play since it seems Silva isn't that hard to take down. It would come down to how A. Silva works off his back against GSP's GnP. I think he would have to try to keep it standing to win against GSP because I can't see him getting a submission from his back, but I think GSP would definitely have to get it to the ground to beat Silva.

Forrest vs Anderson.... who takes it? im thinkin forrest will.

Forrest vs Anderson.... who takes it? im thinkin forrest will.

Yeah I saw this yesterday, if Anderson comes out like he has and just doing enough to win he will lose. Forest shouldn't be underestimated and is always improving. Either way I think it will be a great fight because Forest is very energetic and is always making good fights.

Oh that would be bad ass if forest rocked him. I'm psyched for all these upcoming fights, some real good ones going down lol. Brown vs Faber 2 in june too which should be good.

Forrest vs Anderson.... who takes it? im thinkin forrest will.

Whoa! Shit I haven't seen anything on them being matched up.

Well, like you guys said... I also believe Forest could beat Silva down. He often sets the pace of each fight with his energy, and the man just doesn't give up.

On the flip side... Silva IS an excellent fighter, and we all know he's pretty much a counter striker. That being said, if Forest does stick to his guns the way he usually does, he could potentially set himself up for a knock out. Silva will get the opportunity to strike back and he doesn't lack the ability to lay men out. He's done it before. Forest has a strong chin and can usually take a good beating, but he's also been knocked the fuck out.

So really, although I'm in Forests corner on this one, I can see it going either way.
