Thats the rankings for LW from http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templates/topten.asp?articleid=8&zoneid=15

4 out of the top 7 fight for Dream / Strikeforce so yeah I would say that if BJ wants more challenges at LW he would leave and go to Strikeforce and fight there.

Dream/Strikeforce lol. I still dont see your logic? Is dream and strikeforce gonna merge or something? The best competition is in the UFC, the most exposure is the ufc, as well as more money, he wont leave.

Oh and, would you mind telling me which one of those fighters is from strikeforce? Lol im pretty sure its 0. Strikeforces 2 champions arent even ranked in the top 10.

Also it wouldn't be the first time that Penn has left the UFC to find more challenges.

Do you guys not keep up with other organizations? It was announced months ago that the events would now be sharing fighters. When the Dream fighters fight in the U.S. its for Strikeforce, when Strikeforce fighters fight in Japan its for Dream.

http://mmajunkie.com/news/16773/shi...ikeforce-likely-to-fight-for-organization.mma

Thats a shame, Strikeforce is a shitty organization IMO. Dream is a solid organization and has some solid fighters and it'd be cool to see them fight some over here as well, but you might as well just watch Dream because strikeforce is shit. I mean in their heavyweight division you got Fedor and thats about it, every other fighter whos decent is a Dream fighter. With the exception of Kazuo Misaki and maybe Lawler (shields caught him in a lucky ass guillotine, and shields is kind of a pussy imo, his last fight was just shit), Riggs is kind of on a comeback, Brett Rodgers has potential and possible Cung Le (although he hasn't really fought anyone decent in his 6 fights). Am I missing anyone? Cause most of their cards i've seen have just been shitty.

Penn left the first time mostly because of contract disputes and whining with Dana, not really because the UFC didnt offer him enough competition, and that was a while ago.

I will admit i didnt know they were sharing, but i shouldve expected it since they did the same bs with fedors owners.

Also, i cant always agree with the rankings of organizations outside the UFC, because those guys, while they may be the best or near the top, they dont constantly fight the cream of the crop.

Besides, BJ Penn is the best at 155, if those guys want to prove themselves, they should run to him, instead of having BJ call them out, or run to other orgs. I dont think any of those guys have a chance of beating the BJ that has shown up the last couple fights, save for maybe Kenny Florian. I really do think he can come back better, anyone thats fought him once, I think can make it more competitive a second time around.

Strikeforce did just sign Hendo...and you guys forgot about Gegard Mousasi the future of MMA. The dude is in his early 20s and already a beast. Overeem is their HW champion, Werdum is still great. Nick Diaz has impoved tremendously and GSPs dream fight is with Jake Shields so yeah I would consider him good. King Mo is also a huge prospect. Their overall roster isn't like the UFC's but they have grown a lot in the last year and Scott Coker is doing a great job. Oh yeah and their Fedor vs. Brett Rogers was the most watched MMA event worldwide so yeah they have some things going for them.

That is the same bullshit that people use for discrediting Fedor. Why should he have to go fight the UFC's HWs when he is considered the Best? Oh and there have been rumors of Fedor vs. Josh Barnett which I see as his biggest threat. But yeah I do agree with you, BJ is the best 155 there is and I don't think anyone has a chance against him.

The have money to throw at promotion, it was watched cause it was free, im sure the UFC still brings in more revenue, I could be wrong though. You also have to take into account all the people who get 4-5 guys together to order and watch a ufc, or goto a sports bar. Considering the Fedor/Rodgers fight was free i doubt it was to the same extent, also for having a Shields and Fedor fight, it was a pretty boring fuckin card. I have no idea why GSP wants to fight shields, I think hes a boring fighter. Also the two bolded are Dream fighters over strikeforce fighters, except hendo who is more at strikeforce as a fuck you to the ufc, whether he says so or not. Oh and Werdum couldnt hack it in the UFC, dos santos destroyed him and then his last fight with Silva also on the fedor card sucked ass too.

Mousasi is the SF champ and stopped doing the Dream GP to fight for SF so I don't consider him a Dream fighter at all. I agree though Overeem wasn't even contracted to SF until much more recently and he is now fighting in the winter of 2010 for SF.

Oh yeah Mousasi is a beast, and I will say I dont really like SF and I hated EliteXC, but now that that tanked and if its merging with dream, SF does have some potential. This next main card this sat does look pretty decent:

Main:
Josh Thomson vs. Gilbert Melendez
Matt Lindland vs. Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza
Scott Smith vs. Cung Le
Robbie Lawler vs. Trevor Prangley
Muhammed Lawal vs. Mike Whitehead

Mousasi himself said that his ultimate goal is to compete in the UFC.

Also, Fedor is not the overall concensus Number 1 HW. BJ Penn IS the best 155er, no one will argue that. However people do, and rightfully so argue that Fedor is or is not the best.

Hopefully your not one of those Fedor diehard fan boys, the man is a talented fighter, but i cant give him the Number 1 Nod, i cant give that to anybody to be honest. Hes a great fighter, but he might be past his prime man, a former Sams club Employee whos been training in MMA for a year, with no wrestling background nearly pounded out a win against him.

Im not a hater, but im not a fanboy. I dont think hes as good/bad as people say. If he came to the UFC, and beat atleast some of the HWs in the division, then i will give him the credit people are so quick to throw at him.

I mean, two of his biggest wins imo, Crop Cop and Nog were by decision, and theyre production has dropped a bit since fighting better competition in the UFC, granted Cro Cop has had some issues and Nog was sick prior to fighting Mir, but either way the UFC is where the true test lies, and the only way Fedor can put any doubts to rest. I fear its too late, because when his SF contract is up and if he signs with UFC and does bad, people will argue that he got too old.

I cant compare his situation with that of BJ Penn. There is no doubt in 99.9% of the worlds mind that he, right now, and when focused is the best 155er today, and possibly of all time.

Hear is the kinda shit that i DONT like about strikeforce:

Strikeforce in Miami
Date: Jan 30, 2010

Location: Sunrise, Fla
Venue: BankAtlantic Center
Broadcast: Showtime

Nick Diaz vs. TBA (possibly for vacant welterweight title)
Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos vs. TBA (for 145-pound women's title)
Jay Hieron vs. TBA*
Bobby Lashley vs. TBA
Herschel Walker vs. TBA

Come on now, SERIOUSLY?

Then again, UFC108's card is pretty laughable too.

I can't listen to you if you think that the Cro Crop and Nog who came to the UFC were the ones who competed in PRIDE. Also who is there to challenge Fedor? Brock? Yes he has great potential, but he has hardly proven himself. He has beat Frank Mir, Heath Herring, and an old man in Couture, yet he is supposed to match up with Fedor? Please oh and Brett was no where close to finishing Fedor, Fedor cut his nose badly sparring with Aleks a few days before the fight and Brett was also ranked about the same as Carwin is and he is the #1 HW contender right now.

I didnt say they were, hence what i said when mentioning their names, please read. Second, Im not crowning Lesnar, though he is very talented. Fedor beating Brock or vice versa would not annoint either one with the No.1 HW ranking, they still need to beat constant competition, guys like Mir, Velasquez, Nog, JDS whos up and comming, GG regularly.

Yeah in SF you got what, Fedor, Rodgers, Overeem when he comes back and.... who? King Mo maybe we'll see sat, and like i said Werdum isn't that great imo, the fight with silva was weak. UFC you got Brock, Mir, Nog, Dos Santos, Cain, Carwin, Gonzaga, Pat Barry is up and coming when he rounds his game out, Duffee had a sick knockout his last fight and is up and coming, Rothwell even though he was crappy in his last fight and Kongo/Crocop to an extent as well. Even if those guys may not beat fedor on a good day, its def a much more talented pool of athletes than SF has.
