I did this aswell.
And I fully agree with this. The endgame of WKC was terrible. It was grind the same quests 1000 times and fight the same enemies over and over.
Well, that's fine
I sold WKC but my save is still on my PS3
I'm not buying this one right away, though. If I can pick it up off gamefly or something, I'll do that
There is really just no justifying how bad the enemy diversity and endgame in WKC1 is. There's no way I'm spending any money on something like that again.
While I understand with what you said, honestly, I can forgive Level 5 for the shortcomings of this game, based upon several factors:
1) This is their first PS3 title, I assume they wanted to start with something basic so they can build into something greater (WKC2 and perhaps WKC3(?))
2) They are a fairly small studio, their resources for developing next gen titles aren't nearly as large as other developers, for example SE. (Level 5 has 210 Employees circa 2009, while SE has around 2,500, also circa 2009)
3) They run several projects all at once, and have to divide time to each accordingly. (Inazuma 11, Professor Layton, WKC, Dragon Quest etc.)
If anything, I'd say their work so far is rather admirable. They've managed to not only develop a completely new IP, they've managed to build this IP into a series (Akin to Mass Effect in a way, though completely different from what BioWare do), and they've done it on a system that is fairly difficult to develop for. Not only that, it's their first HD title, and their first true online title since True Fantasy Live Online was cancelled by Microsoft.
