Racial profiling to be legalized!

There's a reason we have the phrase "driving while black." When the "inconvenience" targets a specific group over and over again for no other reason than skin color, it crosses well into the harassment zone.

And once again your side is basing an argument of what COULD happen but wont be the norm, much like the Black's case. Hey, I could get accused of a murder I didn't commit, should we do away with the illegalities of murder? I've once gotten a speeding ticket when I know damn good and well I wasn't speeding. I lost my fight and had to pay a little over $125 when it was all said and done. Should we do away with traffic laws? I'll answer for you, no, absolutely not. I'll go one up, because I don't like that whiney "I'm Black" horseshit, I've been pulled over for being "suspecious" by a black cop. He tore my truck up lookin' for something, anything to get me on while makin' a lot of rude comments as to where I was going, coming from, and up to. I guess I could say I see your "driving while black" and throw you a "driving while white".

Like I've said before. There are some asshat power-trippin' cops out there who will do this, but there will be more who service the law appropriately. When it becomes the norm for cops to pull over browns for being brown then hey, you'll have a case, but right now all I'm seeing is a cry of foul when nothing has even began and what your basing your cries on isn't even close to being a goddamn half-norm much less an epidemic. Again though, if you're doing no wrong you have nothing to fear. I'm not so sure what's so hard about this to understand. If a cop pulls over a Mexican for being brown and the Mexican is illegal he got what he deserved from leeching off my wallet, if he's legal he'll be on his way with some decent grounds for punitive monies.

Well, to be fair, you're a white guy driving a truck. That's as suspicious as a black guy driving a Cadillac, in my experience @.@

A black guy driving a caddy isn't so suspicious to me. Now if there were 2 in the front and 2 or 3 in the back, that's when I'd be a little suspicious.

It's not a magical process to look at how similar laws have been used in the past to work out how it'll go down this time. There were plenty of laws on the books designed to harass southern blacks, all perfectly legal, but of course the defense was they applied to whites as well *wink*wink*nudge*nudge*. Just like sodomy laws were selectively enforced against gay men, but nobody cared if a dude was getting blown by a woman because they weren't "sexual deviants." Arizona has made it clear they want to stop illegal immigration and they're using racial profiling to do it by telling cops to ask U.S. citizens with brown skin to prove their citizenship even when they're not being accused of a crime.

Meanwhile, the Arizona legislature is trying to ban ethnic studies programs and their education department is targeting teachers with heavy accents. Sure, it's all about border security.

"If you're doing no wrong, you have nothing to fear" is horseshit. We have plenty of people in prison who did nothing wrong except for be poor and unable to afford a crack legal team.

As for the article Duddits linked to... I'm not surprised that lady's used to being called a racist. I'd be calling her that if I heard her complaining that Mexicans are filthy and don't care about education the way some of the people being interviewed did. Wow.

I say, let Arizona enforce this bill, meanwhile the U.S. government can pull all Border Patrol and Customs (all ICE agents in fact) out of Arizona, as well as take away any funding the state was receiving for allowing said agents to be trained in that state. See if they dont go and revoke this bill with their tails between their legs.

Frankly, if the federal government was doing its job, Arizona wouldn't have enacted this bill to begin with.

I HIGHLY doubt that. Had McCain become president instead of Obama, we wouldnt be seeing this type of bill put into effect. Not because McCain woulda done something about immigration, but because he would have been a Republican in the President's office.

I've tossed and turned this around my head man times. I've flipped it, I've baked it, I've deep fried it, and I've stuck it between cheese, bacon, and two slices of fried chicken with no bun.
And I've come to the conclusion that you have no idea what you're talking about.

I'm wondering if you're even getting what I'm saying...........you appear intelligent, but when you open your mouth, the effect is spoiled sir.

So.... what, your position is that there is no immigration problem, just ignorant racists acting out because there's a black Democrat in the White House?

Really?

That's your position?

Because that's sure as hell what it sounds like from what you just said.

Or, y'know, state governments could be getting fed up over the ineffectuality of the federal government's approach to the immigration problem and begun taking measures of their own.

Have you ever been to this country DW? If you have, ever been to L.A., N.Y., D.C.? Just because I make a comment about a common scenario that happens in this country every day doesn't make me a racist. If you're referring to my earlier comment "President Obama is too busy being Uncle Tom to know whats really going on", that comment came from a black friend of mine.

Do me a favor DW, go down to your local pub and have a pint, eat some fish & chips and STFU!

You're an idiot. If that comment you make about said scenario is a racist remark then yeh. It does. You may as well have said "I'm not racist, I have a black president."

Also, I hate battered fish, you won't see me in a fish and chip shop ever. More of a Thai guy anyway.

I thought it was kinda racist because I never get suspicious of multiple black people in a Caddy and I go to D.C (I can literally get there in like 5 minutes) all the time and have been to N.Y. on multiple occasions. Unless a black guy pulls out a gun, I don't really get suspicious. And how exactly is that a common scenario? I've not seen a Caddy, much less black people in one, in a while.

As far as I can see, you're the only one thats made a personal attack in this thread. What does that make you? If you don't like my opinions and want to start calling names, take it to the flameboard. I dare ya.

Ever been through Southeast D.C.? Since your 5 minutes away I'm sure you heard about the mass shooting there last month.

If you haven't, here's a link to the story.

You consider being called an idiot a personal attack, if you do, man up. Or was it that I called you a racist? If so, I'm not the only one who has called you out on it.

How exactly do you want me to start this flame board topic exactly?
