So what are your biggest pet peeves?

You probably say "I'm sorry to hear that" and go on with your day. Nope, it's not your job to listen, and you may not even care. But grief does weird things to people... they don't always know what to do with it.

Which leads me to another pet peeve (and please don't think I am attacking you personally, Ex): Why is there so little common courtesy left in the world? Things like basic human acknowledgement that something bad has happened to someone - have we become so desensitized as a culture that we see another human being upset and we just click off because it's "not our problem?" I don't know, I'm not suggesting make the world's problems your problems or lets all hold hands and cumbaya, but it seems there's a basic human compassion that is lost on a lot of people these days. For all two seconds of kindness it takes, is it that much of a burden?

Actually, you got me backwards. Im that teller who is talking to someone for five minutes with people in line because something is wrong that they told me and ill chit chat and try to make them feel better. I may not know what to say but showing an honesty to your words goes a long way. Ive had a few customers come in with grief notes ive sent them and personally said thank you.

But, i get you. How often do we see a broken down car, or worse yet someone getting beaten up on the side of the road, only to see every car in morning rush hour just slow down to rubber neck then continue on their way because they cant be late, or dont care enough to stop.

I heard a story the other day, this older woman was leaving a circle K i frequent, when a shady older man was shadowing her. The clerk who is my friend called the car upholstry shop next door, where she was walking, and one of the younger guys walked out straight to the man and plain out said "What the HELL do you think your doing?!". The man left and the younger gentleman took his time to walk the lady home, about a mile away.

Thats why I still have hope in this world.

Edit: I think I know why people talk to tellers and open up as much as they do. Despite the fact that I may not want to know about your sex life or your kids or your problems, We are an unbiassed party, fairly anonymous to them, but they have a trust in us because we handle their money. So the fact that we can give an outside opinion in a professional atmosphere must mean something.

Another peeve (not directed at you, this is something I generally get annoyed with, you just reminded me):

Men thinking that its funny/ok to constantly bash on women. Just because your guy friends laugh, just because I laugh and sometimes agree (yeah, I know, we're crazy) doesn't mean that all your 'Get back in the kitchen' and 'dumb/crazy bitch' jokes are funny or appreciated. Once in a while, maybe some men (and even women) should take a good look at their past girlfriends and instead of blaming the horrible relationship on her, take a look at yourself to maybe see if you were the asshole that made them act that way. If you didn't, bitch is crazy.

Unsurprisingly, I have a pet peeve that's somewhat the inverse of this. At what point did men, particularly white males, become just about the only acceptable target for laughs in commercials? God forbid we show someone other than a white man fucking up or looking stupid in a commercial.

I realize some people will probably post in reply to this and say: "Well, white males are the most successful/advantaged group in society, so you don't have a right to complain", to which I will reply: "What the hell does that have to do with anything?". I just wanted to get that out of the way in advance so people don't feel compelled to waste their time.

I hate it how in most movies that most the black folk get killed and never really shine as much as a hero, save Rush Hour...but that don't count. =/

It's always: They get shot and die, save the day and die etc.

Only movie I liked where the black guy lived was...John Q. Really good movie.

Need Moar Black Heros!

Thats because all black people are gang bangers and gang bangers always die in the movies.

Hey what about any will smith movie, or SWAT, for example?

Don't know if someone already touched on it or not, but people who don't know the difference between "your", and "you're" and "their" "they're" and "there". "To" and "too" is right up there for me as well.

It's even worse when someone says "I just do it to save time typing". My own girlfriend gives me that shit all the time and it's annoying as fuck.

Fuck you if you are too lazy to learn the differences between some of the most basic words in the english language.

Thanks, /end rant. :D

can agree with that peeve, I think people tend to place themselves or desires as their center of the universe and can forget the people the interact with on a day to day basis.

of course I've also done the above by accident and it's not fun finding out that if I just shut my mouth or said something, I wouldn't have sounded like an ass

People at work who sploosh water and soap all over the counter tops and can't be bothered to wipe it up. Come on, how difficult is that?

Oh well, at least they washed their hands, I guess . . .

Will Smith? He isn't really considered a hero...he plays with these weird perverted alien worm thingys...nothing heroic about that...save maybe warning that girl against the 'special' worm >.>...

I totally forgot SWAT. Good Movie too. But again...only a few where they shine. ;_;

Only one I don't agree upon is "The Rock" He never dies. He needs to die. He is like Hawaiian/Asian/Black/White..he is everything...he is THE WORLD....

"The Rock" Must die.

EDIT: DING Page 20 Mwaw hahaha suckers....

I've worked customer service ever since I was 15. One of my biggest pet peaves is stupid people. If you do anything in customer service.. I don't need to explain that to you.

I also hate people who smack their lips while eating, people talking with food in their mouth, people who chew gum really loudly, people who dip and spit it in a 20oz bottle in the middle of class, guys who wear girl pants (sorry if that offends you but it drives me insane), movies with Will Farrel in them, ...I'm sure I'll remember more later lol.

People who flick their tongue bar around piss me off. I've had my tongue pierced for almost 10 years and you'd never know it unless you were in my face or I told you. I don't understand why people have to play around with their bar and flick it in and out of their mouth like they're showin it off. You look stupid.

What pisses me off more is when people in food service do that. I went to Subway one day and this bitch who must have been 16 or so was flicking it around while making my sandwich, knocking it on her teeth, pushing it in and out of her mouth. It was disgusting. She flicked a piece of something from her mouth onto my sandwich. I asked her if she was going to remake it and she got shitty, said no and started smacking her lips at me. I told her she was digusting and needed to grow up. Then I told her manager what happened. He saw nothing wrong with her actions so I walked out. Why do people have to be so fuckin nasty?

movies with Will Farrel in them

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

the only movie I thought he was funny in was Anchorman, the other movies just made me wonder why...

Being woken up before having a good solid 7-8 hours sleep.

Haven't re-bought an alarm for the side of the bed since i threw it at a wall one morning.

People who ask me a series of questions. ESPECIALLY when they are questions that I could give a shit about.

People telling me how to do something when I already know how to do it. I guess they may not know that I do know what I'm doing, but I just hate it when people tell me how to do something..when I know how to do it.

I have a rather long list of pet peeves, but shall narrow it down to the most annoying.

1. Like Rappa, I too can become incensed at loose shopping carts. I have actually gone to the point of calling the people lazy cows to their faces.

2. While driving, EVERYONE SHOULD see the 5billion signs that say lane closure ahead. It usually starts at 2 miles and keeps going all the way down to 500 ft. My pet peeve are all the assholes that can't get a clue that the lane is CLOSED ahead and therefore should have moved over BEFORE the cones.

3. Being in customer service: Customers that think your store has RENTALS NO DEPOSIT marked on it as they buy buttloads of stuff for holidays only to return it after the parties are over. (I'm a bitch to deal with on that score. MWAHAHAHA!!!)

4. On cash register during the Friday night rush: People standing in line bitching about long lines(I'm fast mind you, avg. 792 items/hr). These SAME people don't bother to move their crap off the bag carriage basically bringing the ring up to a halt. THEN, they FINALLY move their lazy cow butts to remove the bags and reload their carts, after which, they spend about 6 minutes to dig through their purses/pockets to pay.

This is quite entertaining to read. :x The majority of mine have already been said, but I do have a few scenarios from work. I work at a subshop, Quiznos to be exact, and I have never seen such stupid/rude/etc people in my life.

1.) Customer's Ignoring You
Me: "Hello, how are you?"
Customer: *does not acknowledge you*
Do I want to make your sandwich at this point? no. Is it really that hard to say something to me? I'm trying to be nice -.-

2) Stupidity
On the Quiznos Menu, we have categories and underneath, the subs you can order. The absolute most common mistake is under our category "Premium Steak Sub" followed by Prime Rib Cheesesteak, Black Angus Steak, etc.
Me: "Hey,how can I help you?"
Customer: "I'd like to get a Premium steak sub please."
Me: "Which one?"
Customer: "The regular size."
Me: "No... which sub would you like!?"

3) Taking Way too Long to Order
A customer has been waiting in line for an incredibly long time. When they finally get up to the counter to order...
Me: "Hello, how may I help you?"
Customer: "I need a minute."
... YOU DO? (This also includes people who talk on the phone before ordering, or holding other customers up by doing this when they don't know what they want.)

4) Lazy People
This in turn, makes me have to work harder to pick up the slack... No I don't get payed enough to do my job x2. If you can't work and just end up taking up space, why show up?

One of my personal favorites was this person that worked at a Publix Deli. She orders a cookie with her meal. Fine, np. Ten minutes later, she returns to the counter wanting a refund. Why you ask? because it was too sweet.
Me: *What would you possibly want a cookie to be!? bitter?*

Non-work related:
-Smoking (Yes, I'm glad you can't smoke in restaurants in GA anymore)
-Slow Driving
-Tractors, etc. driving down the road. (Big problem where I live. Old farmers taking their stupid tractors down the road at 10mph and you can't pass them *or the person in front of you won't pass them*. Why not pull over and let all the cars go past you?)
-People pretending to use his/her cellphone. (No, using a cell phone does not make you any more cool. If you don't have to use it, why take it out? I see this a lot at college in b/w classes, and they are obviously doing absolutely nothing on that phone.)

Ahh cell phones.

When your in a room full of crowded people, and a phone rings (With one of those ring tones you absolutley know possibly only one other person in the room has), and EVERYONE pulls out their phone to check it.

If its July, and the Xmas ringtone goes off, why the FUCK would you look at your phone if you have the "Low" song as yours???????????

On the topic of phones-

People who insist on continuing a phone conversation long after the conversation has concluded. You know what I'm talking about. Those people who can't fucking stop talking about pointless, uninteresting shit and let you carry on with your business once you have said what you wanted to say.

I don't care what Sarah's cousin's friend Jimmy thought of your outfit 3 weeks ago. Please shut the fuck up and hang up the phone already. I've got better things to do with my time. Like slam my dick in a window until it turns purple.

I hate talking on the phone at all, let alone feigning interest in a conversation with someone who talks faster than the Roadrunner runs away from Wile E. Cayote... for 4+ hours at a time while trying not to come off as 'rude' or 'impatient'

Send me an email or something.
