Thf/RNG merits

Are you the avarage healer from all the healers on this server Uzor?
I'll answer this for you, cuz I know you are much better then avarage.
From your posts, you are using your own experience as healer with thf/war's
in pt...
We, us thf's, are talking about our experience with hundred's, hell maybe even
thousands of healers.
I know what you are saying, mostly cuz we are both saying the same thing, however your experience with thf/war is from the wrong point of view.
The healer's-view if you wish.

And Artem is right, it's close to impossible for a thf to play even-steven with
highend geared up wars. :)

The thing is, you keep taking in to consideration the other party members too much. The discussion is about THF and whether /WAR and /NIN are good subs. The discussion isn't about the other party members.

Hell, you can keep the ridicilous claims that all WHMes will suck, and all those WAR's, MNK's and NIN's will have below-average gear and no merits. But in an even average party, that will not be the case. You keep comparing perfect party to a below average party, instead of a just normal average party. You assume everyone will plain out suck as your basis for /NIN being the better sub.

Well, hopefully now after 20 pages you understand that both is good and
that people prefer /nin because that an merit pt contains more then just
one member. Sadly all players must take into consideration to wich whom
they are playing with, no matter what you think. Or did I missunderstand
the first sentance in this quote above?

Hah, I've never said that all whm's suck, or that, um, "all those WAR's, MNK's and NIN's will have below-average gear and no merits", but hey, no wonder Sneaky was a lil annoyed with you earlier, since it seems you're not paying attention to what others say.
I'm gonna repeat myself, hopefully this will help.
/war will work, if it's with people you know.
It's not worth the risk/chance to get assraped by the mobs,
just cuz there's a bad healer in the pt, or by bad luck with a ws
from the mob. Therefor, to save the time of warping, changing
SJ, heading back to camp, /nin is prefered.
(This has nothing to do with you personally, all I'm saying is that
the majority of the 634693238* partys I've been in, /war would have been
impossible. Again, the majority of the partys... majority.)
*Fantasy number.

/nin will work no matter what.

Not sure why you continue to post in this thread since we all seem to agree
that both subjobs has their advantages.
If it's postcount, well post all ya want, but please inform me if that's the
case so I can stop read this thread, cuz this discussion is dead.

"Plain out suck"....That's not the assumption.
The assumption is that they will probably be average. (reads: not the best of the best, but not plain out suck...Somewhere in the middle)
Even with that assumption that you'll be dealing with average players, that's not the reason to go /NIN.

We've talked about specific camps being ok for /WAR, and all THFs agreed that it would be appropriate or that, depending on the PT setup, you might be able to get away with it. This doesn't account for the majority of camps/PT arrangements. What if you go to party and would like to go /WAR but can't find a WHM, or one that can do his job? Cure V and Regen 3 might be good enough if you had it.

Without requiring a WHM to accompany the THF/WAR configuration, and also then having to be more cautious with pulling hate, relying on TA timer more...You could merit as /NIN, add another RDM, BRD, COR etc., have zero downtime and roll through everything as, or more, effectively.

Again these are more specifics. But I use them to merely point out that Cure V and Regen 3 aren't necessary at all if you don't need that kind of attention to begin with. Sure maybe that's enough to heal a guy up and the WHM can keep up, but remove that issue altogether, and you can bring in a more useful 6th, as it pertains to meriting speed and fluidity. Once you start dealing out 2k+ damage WS with /NIN, you will realize that /WAR held you as a THF back, and that /WAR is mostly just done for novelty, or a very specific purpose. The flexibility /NIN grants is worth a lot more than a nominal, if that, gain in damage from /WAR.

Everyone agrees /WAR has a place. But /NIN is the better choice for merits the majority of the time, considering all things and not just some of them. That's pretty much all anyone has said. Nobody said /WAR flat out doesn't work. Where I and others said it failed, we were specific as to why it failed. Though that could be remedied, it is at a cost that is ultimately not worth paying, given you have a better alternative for most situations in /NIN.

/WAR do work in an average party. Although I suppose it depends on what your "average" party is.

And yes, I agree, with a RDM/NIN would be better, as its harder to keep up with the healing as RDM. That is not, however, the case with a WHM. And if you have a BRD in the party, odds are he still won't have to /heal much even if you'd sub WAR.

That also depends on your definition of "work".
