What anime are you watching/reading?

I've been watching Baki The Grappler lately. I wasn't sure if I would enjoy this or not when I bought it, but I was curious about it and it was a good deal for the price (two seasons, 48 episodes, for just a little bit more than most normal one season box sets).

Turns out I've really been liking this anime a lot. It's a very simple story but the fighting (which makes up like 90% of the anime) is very cool to watch. I've almost finished the first season, and I have the second season to watch as well. Looking forward to it.

I've been reading the baki manga, since they didn't make the 3rd or the 4th(where I am now) into anime. I love this series, although the art of the manga is shit compared to the art in the anime.

....You bought Negima? <_<; It was such a terrible anime. UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie is 50 kinds of bad, aswell. Lol

Just finished both of these. I enjoyed both of them to be honest although I can sympathise in that UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie was just 4 series of fan service with not the greatest story/plot, but hey i'm a sucker for fan service XD.

Negima however I thought was great (although the OVA's was pretty terrible i'll admit), and I have pre-ordered the season 2 part 1 box set (released December) in light of watching this^^

On to School Rumble now :p

Finished watching .hack//sign, fantastic ending.

Definitely. That series as a whole was pretty fantastic. I mean, it had good everything: Characters, story, music, drama, action and conclusion.

I just finished up Baki The Grappler. I have to say it definitely left me wanting to see more.. since there wasn't an ending really. I understand from previous posts that there are in fact two more chapters to the manga so I'm really hoping they make them into the 3rd and 4th seasons of the anime. Over all though, the series was pretty decent as far as obvious fighting animes go. I just don't get how they can end the series with an episode about Baki's father's past. While that would have been fine if the series itself had more to it, but as of yet.. it doesn't. Bleh.

Baja: Yeah Art work is a big deal for me in manga moreso than anime, Bleach manga art is incredible I can't get enough of it honestly same with Naruto to a lesser extent. If the art looks too silly I can't get into it, but then again that's probrably because I'm drawn to more serious anime/manga.

Shirai: Best two words put together

started on gintama it's ok, it's starting to build up at 13 atm, it makes me think of Cowboy Bebpop for a younger(slightly lol)audience than the adult themes in Bepop.

I love the central theme and motivation behind the fights so far!

I like to think of it as Japan's version of Futurama, though obviously not set in the 31st century and set in Japan.

Sounds strange but I like to have good laughs with both series and they just oddly seem similar in a way. Makes me wonder if they would put that same kind of effort in the satire if they do dub it as they do with Futurama rather than ruin it like VIZ has done with the English translation of the manga.

watching the most random anime so far o.O .... Kyouran Kazoku Nikki

to K. Ishitar you better watch gintama anime too ;p

Was Mahou Sensei Negima (the first one) which I have just watched. I did preorder the first box set for Negima!? (season 2) which is out in December. Loved the first season and want more^^

I notice the animation has differed slightly and that many of the girls have had their hair colours changed in Negima!? (and the OVA) making it a lil harder to identify them. Like Chisame (Green to Brown), Sakurako (Red to Blonde) etc etc but I can handle that. From what I heard Negima!? focuses a lot more on the pactio card side of things where the classmates transform into their magic forms and help in the action side of things, which we only saw a little of towards the end of the first season. Sounds like good shit to me which is why I pre-ordered it :D

On another note I have just finished School Rumble season 1 (awesome love/comedy anime), and just have the Air TV Movie sitting on my DVD shelves yet to be watched. That is until my parcels from the US arrive which contain Gravion, Godannar, My-Hime, School Rumble OVA and Kanon (if they can ever get stock of the dvd's again ;; ). Plenty to look forward to :P

Well I just finished watching Fate stay night ( I guess the second two words are suppose to be uncapitalized, since that's the way it's shown) and it was fantastic. Kind of a sad ending but at least it was an ending with finality. I am so glad to have watched this one. I've heard of it for quite some time but I never took the time to try and watch it. I'm quite thankful that I was not disappointed at all.

The spin on King Arthur was interesting. I kind of wonder who the first Archer was, what was his hero name I also wanted to know who Rider was. I checked out Kojiro Sasaki (Assassin) online and was pleased to find out that he was an actual famous Japanese swordsman. Most people know about or have at least heard of Hercules (Berserker), King Arthur (Saber), and Gilgamesh (Archer). I can't remember Lancer's name, but they did reveal that in the first or second episode. They also revealed Sorcerer's name but I forgot that as well, though I do believe there are legends about here as well.

It was just a very interesting and facisnating anime to me. Definitely was a very good concept that worked out very well.

Ecks, extreme spoilers

Spoiler:
Archer, if I remember right was Shiro. He had his memory so not to fuck with time or something like that. I think it's explained in the Hentai games.

o.O Wow.. to think you would learn something like that from a Hentai game.. lmao.

But.. it does kind of make sense, sort of.. but not really. Since epic heroes are suppose to be deceased heroes of the past. Shiro was there in the present.. so that doesn't make sense.

Forgive me as I dont know how to use spoiler tags here ;;

I have the visual novel/game thing related to this anime and that contains all the character info you could ever need.

Lancer's real name was Cúchulainn, Ireland's son of light who weilded the Gae Bolg polearm

Wiki referance > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuchulain

Go DRG! ^^

also, Rider's real name was Medusa the gorgon. The same Medusa we all refer to who turned people into stone should they stare at her. And has snakes for hair.

Loved this anime also, <3 Rin

Ah, Medusa sounds interesting. That would make sense since she always kept her eyes covered up until she was defeated.

Slowly reading D. Grayman, it's pretty awesome...on volume 4
