The "=" suggests just that EQUAL. I could care less if NIN was equal in end game as long as PLD was equal in gaining EXP.

To analyze this lets look at the basics of what makes each job better at what it does.

Ninja:
Takes no damage (unless shadows go down).
Speeds up exp pts by dealing dmg as well as tanking.
Speeds up exp pts by not needing a healer.

cons:
Takes a lot of damage when shadows go down (thus making it unrealistic for endgame).
Has a harder time holding hate.

Paladin:
Takes little damage due to high vit and defense.
Holds hate extremely well.
Amazing endgame because of the low damage intake.

cons:
Slows down party by needing MP.
Slows down party by needing a full time healer.

If we were to make paladin faster, then there would be no reason for ninjas. To compensate for that, we would need to make ninjas take less damage, hold hate better, or a combination of the two. This would make ninjas idea for exp parties, because they can still do everything pld can and more in an exp situation.

Warrior:
Pro:
Takes No damage for 6+hits(depending on evasion and if utsu Ni add some more) then takes low
Speeds up EXP pt by dealing heavy damage, in addition to tanking
Works like a paladin without curing, and lower defense
Has more defense than Ninja.
In short fight exp pts(like War Sam Blm Blm Blm RDM[or another blm]) works better than paladin because faster TP, and has a greater variety of weaponry than ninja's typically use
Holds hate better than ninja
Con:
Shadows last shorter than Ninja
Takes more damage than Paladin
Slows down EXP pt if done wrong(which is very easy to do)
works like a paladin without curing, and lower defense
Has more less defense than paladin
Holds hate almost as well, but usually less than a paladin

I know someone will argue with it, and i don't think i'm 100% right but still it's mostly right and it needs to be known that warrior can still tank

Actually I saw my brother in a party like this except it was WAR/NIN BLM,BLM,BLM,BLM,RDM. He would go out and pull a crab. tank for 3-4 hits then the crab would be dead. Granted that is a very different party than you need a tank for but it looked like it would be fun.

This is a good point. It is more fun to have different setup every now and then for the experience grind. I did about 15-20 levels on ranger with a 3x Ranger cannon and it was fun at first, but when I went back to a regular party where I can pull and sc and all that jazz it was refreshing to do something different. I enjoy the change from Paladin and Ninja just to change things up a bit also.

There is also a down side for a NIN as a tank. It make WHM lazy, their healing skill is sucks and they always complain about do i really have to heal the pt, etc etc etc. Yes, it conserve the MP, but make their magic skill sucks. but an advanage is WHM can Banish III MB if PT doing light SC, and make better divine skill. and remember that NIN lose all shadows when mob AOE which NIN mostly hated, and if both uts still recasting, healer have to spam Cure V and IV to catch up with 100-300 damage nin is taken which make it even worst to keep hate undercontrol.

As for PLD they have MP, even tho isn't much, it give healer some time to rest the mp, while pld keeping hate, at the same time, a good tank will only make healer used 200mp at lowest per mob while pld only lose like 100-200 when the mob die of their max while PLD can still heal themself.

Even tho there is a downtime having pld in a pt, it can control links, NIN can't, they only have 1 provoke, and a lot of nin spell, so, what if you don't have blm or rdm to sleep II the mob? You'll be in a deep doodoo, but pld can use flash or provoke to back it up when there is a links. Slow but safe..

is better to be safe then fast exp, when you die, got raise, you need to wait for weaken to wears off which create more downtime. PLD will reduce that downtime by tanking safely..

So my point is that PLD have the same EXP speed as a NIN pt, if everything goes well

4 days ago I made 7k per hour as PLD/SAM/BLM/BRD/MNK/WHM, which is isn't bad...

I think rdm needs more abilites to make them be able to xp faster. why should bards get all the songs?

sound familiar?

LOL open your eyes & read a little bit more people before you post! We are not talking about all other situations, we are talking about EXP, as far as exp is concerned yes PLD can use a boost to make things even for that aspect & that aspect alone...EXP!

I claim & stand by that PLD is better at the original purpose of a tank; holding hate & defending.

My mind is open, I just want to see everyone able to get exp equally as fast.

Dual wield is a trait unique to NINs. Cover is unique to PLD.
So if PLD were to be as "fast" as NIN, what is it that NIN would get in return?
...Although this is all just more horseshit discussion.

Well because PLD is my favorite job I love RDM, I love BRD too, but since RDM & BRD are not the source of the topic I won't start a discussion on it. But for all jobs, I wish pt invites would come the same.

Well I'm sorry you feel that way & sad to see a popular forum admin speak that way. Shouldn't mods & admins be cracking down w/the whole badword filter?... & yes don't even dare quoting me using such language in previous posts, I know I too have done it.

PLD doesn't need to be as fast specifically themselves, just their PT. Reverting back to the idea of giving PLD tools or Yag drinks stackable to help keep mp up, it could free up the healer to do more things that would benefit the rest of the party by helping them do more damage or take less damage.

Well we all know why this is..... LMFAO. Plus I played this game since Feb 11, 2004, but was gone for long periods equaling close to a year off being offline since then & now. It's called a job, get one, it kills your playtime. Don't be a little kid hiding behind your monitor safely calling other people you don't even know names just to boost your own ego.

Paladin is fine, stop crying because some people prefer nin's. You want them to stack yag drinks, which is meaningless when you'll be partying with a red mage more often than not, and drinks and refresh don't stack. You want paladins to have tools, when their is no basis for them to have tools other than your inferiority complex regarding tanking.

Good pld's don't have a problem pulling in good exp, a ninja just makes it easier to get that exp. I've still pulled in 7k/hr with a pld, but was with a fucking awesome paladin. I can do the same with nin's in another camp, but the ninja doesn't have to be on the top of his game, and for pickup parties people want that. They don't want to need the player to be at the top of their game to get good exp/hour. Sure, it's always a nice thing when the player doesn't suck but for normal pick-up parties where the player's skill is a random factor, nin's tend to be a better bet for good exp.

This whole thing sounds like you don't have confidence in your tanking skills, so you want more and more because people prefer nin's for exp. I prefer bards to red mages, that doesn't make red mages bad, it doesn't mean they need any buffs whatsoever, it means it's a personal choice. Stop acting like it's a damn conspiracy against paladins.

Jebus people stop using me as your g'damn dart board to hit me with crap infront of the eyes of others to make yourself seem more knowledgeable. Grow up. This topic is about PLD vs NIN for exp parties. Things I brough to the table were fundamental questions & suggestions of the "what if?" type.

its a similar refrence to the argument your putting up. your litterly saying make all jobs equal...

what would be the point of job classes then? why can't i tank on my blm? why isn't thf the tank?

I used a wrong wording in one of my earlier post about pld's just mashing buttons.

Let me see if i can explain myself better.
PLD is a fine tank, but when it comes to xp nin takes the cake on faster xp/hr. it was mensioned earlier that you can farm or craft the tools but time=money ninja is dumping a hell of a lot of gill into that exp party. Ninja requires concentration and very little room for error. you misscount one time or miss a shadow going away your gonna get burned. you've got to work your timing down so that your not busy doing something else when blink is needed to be casted. a pld has A LOT more room for error and is not nearly as focused as a ninja must be.

Ninja's must keep a clear mind and stay extreamly focused the whole time. That is why I can't xp on ninja for 24hr's straight like i could on blm rdm whm thf. Ninja has required the MOST SKILL out of any job i've lvld thus far. Its been said by sneaky pld=safer nin=faster. when parties are being built that leader is thinking hmmm which do i want? If they have a choice between the 2 they will make a decision based on prev experiences with either the player or the job. What about the smn's, thf's, drks that get shunned off for oh so long? Where is there balencing you request SE to do for pld so you can exp faster and get more invites?

Maybe instead of saying they need to balence it so you get more invites, maybe you should be making the parties yourself instead of leaving the dirty work to someone else that by your earlier post... wont pick you!

so again the order for EXP PARTIES!! Everyone loves faster xp so the list goes as follows again
Good NIN>Good PLD>Bad PLD>Bad NIN

Best thing you can do if you wana XP is make your own parties. Then you've got just as much of a chance at getting a invite as a bard o.O lol you invited yourself.

one last thing...
everyone talked about making yag drinks, if you have a rdm they dont stack with each other. lvl alch and sinth eithers :p then you have virtually no downtime lol

All you've done in this thread is ignore people who agree that paladin is a good tank, but that nin's are better for some situations and whine about how paladin needs more hate holding tools, when you're the only pld doing so. If there was a true need for it, other pld's would be crying out too, but they aren't. Grow up yourself and learn that not everyone thinks pld's should be put on a pedestal as the "ultimate tank" when they're not the best at everything.

I have all the confidence in the world in my ability to tank, how dare you even imply such bs. Yagudo Drinks was just an example from a previous post of mine, don't stick to targetting Yags. I think it's quite the opposite, people here have a superiority complex & feel they have to flaunt what they think they have & find a target. Everything I've said in this thread is with fundamental thinking of the "what if" sense, no whining has been done. There is no conspiracy against paladins mr. x-files watcher.... I'm not defending nothing, nor attacking anything, my replies are like a wishlist of suggestions of what would be interesting to see if SE ever made such changes..

BULLshit times like 800 and whatnot.

I did not call you gimp for not being level 75 I called you gimp for being a PLD. Also your come backs could use alittle work. I think your just upset your a PLD and can't really level NIN cause no one wants a PLD in the big money makin events and what not.

Good job really though,

Instead of posting here ISO, why don't you go level NIN then maybe you won't be so upset.
