Wow. Keima was another of those people I had blisted since he came in, merely because he would not shut up. He wasn't necessary an ass, but he just would not stop talking. Ever.
But if he lagged out.... wouldn't he have dropped from the game as soon as he dropped party? You don't lag out of a party and still be in game. And if he did mysteriously come back before anyone noticed, wouldn't his lot be gone? So wouldn't he have had to lot again? Yet he was online for the entire event, and if he magically lagged out just after he lotted till just after it dropped, he would have still been in party, and able to be D2'd. In no way does what Keima is saying make any sense. Even if his name had been called, he was still asked to pass, and if he couldn't pass, he couldn't disband. There's no way you could even do it accidently. He would have had to actually disband during his "lag out" session, so he would have done it intentionally. He wasn't being moved parties during it, and even if he was, he would have flagged up after, or accepted an invite from the party he was going into. And even if that did happen, it would have happened when the full connection was re-established. Or remained in alliance. I have seen people lose connection, but still be in the alliance, and appear as if they were in another area. If he lagged out, measures could have been taken so he wouldn't ninja an item. If he didn't lag out, events would have proceeded like they did. End of story.
Notice also Keima brings up that "leaders don't like Ferque", which conveys that Ferque was a victim, and he wrestled his "rightful" hat from his evil oppressors. Which doesn't jive at all with the lagout story, or him being remorseful about the whole thing. Or being a complete ass to pretty much everyone in the shell. Well, I guess he might be a little remorseful, seeing the shitstorm that it brought upon him.
Best part of it is, as you can see in the SS there, no one is surprised at all that Ferque did something like this. Maybe if it was out of character, and the server had been glitching, and he wasn't a complete douche to everyone in the LS, the argument might stand. But everyone looks and says, "Yeah, that's pretty much Ferque".
For all intents and purposes, Ferque was absent for the run, did not contribute (or minimally at best), yet was extended the courtesy of being able to enter the zone, in the hopes he might do something. Yet despite being "afk" since nearly the start, he magically comes back just in time to lot on a piece of coveted armor that he needed. That's shady alone. But if all was realistically the same as someone who wasn't there, why should he have been able to lot? If, for instance, Foosk happened to be busy a night when we were running, and couldn't make it, would he have been able to lot on something? Of course not. And if he was absent for the run, why should he have been able to lot? He may have made past contributions, but if he's absent for a run, why should he magically be able to lot?
No matter what stories or excuses anyone gives, (if it wasn't obvious enough) Ferque ninja'd the hat. He did it because he wanted it. Selfishly, insubordinately, and greedily. That's it.
