Make no mistake, i wasen't trying to be all high and mighty about it personally i thought the class nerfs were funny (i play NWN on occasion when the server's downStrid said:Mokk said:i would suppose no one knows anything about mathematics either and those of us who aren't exactly going ape for your bitching are lumped in with this as well? I also assume you would presume to know more about the job than SE  IMO this is a serious blow to rangers but meh wotcha gonna do? does it level the playing field for the rest of us, sure? do we think that's fair? sure. Is it? probably not. But at least SEs doing something to break up the cookie-cutter mold everyone has for their jobs. Last i checked the options were there for us to decide what we wanted to play to have fun, not sit in jeuno for hours on end lfg even with the leetest of leet gear. Iono, i'm not trying to piss anyone off about it, learned my lesson about the whole bitching at the bitchers thing it's counterproductive, i just think that ABSOLUTELY freaking out and getting defensive towards all the other jobs is a bit silly.
Eh, mathmatics? Never said anything about that.
The whole job listing was meant as a funny. It's traditionally how most games classes act compaired to that of FFXI.
SE probably knows the job bette than me FOR THEIR GAME but I was speaking traditionally.
I wasn't "freaking out" or "getting defensive" to all other jobs. Again, it was a joke. As for my comment about Tauro (sp?) That was, no joke. I just can't find an ounce of love for him anywhere.

The good rangers are not the ones who are complaining. They are the ones figuring out how to adjust.

I still don't see why every rng HAS to pull hate all the time. There's a ton of rng's who don't know how to restrain themselves and end up tanking all the time. The good rng's that I've partied with only pulled hate from weapon skills or maybe barrage, since they knew about hate management. This update just means that you have to stand further back, that's fine. But it also means for those rng's who do nothing but spam sidewinder that it will be a lot easier to get hate off of them, since they won't be doing such huge damage when they have hate.Eladamiri said:Anderithe said:The good rangers are not the ones who are complaining. adjust to our damage being nerfed? so every time we pull hate, we get a 50% damage penalty?
adjust to paying 16k-18k a stack of demon arrows to be outdamaged by other melee...
any fucking ranger can adjust to the nerf.. its not fucking hard to find the sweet spot... but seriously.. shut the fuck up already
SE could of balanced ranger way better then this... SE fucked us solo wise (a levle 60 drk killed a gobbue in zitah faster then me, and i used more bloody bolts)
So I get to pay gil to be outdamaged by melee
and i get to pay even more gil then i already did to farm... and im a ranger.... wow thats smart
SE could of just made our job trait range attack only, given us E- in all melee weapons, and lower the damage of range attacks.. as simple as that

Shh, let them think their huge burst numbers actually meant something in the long run.

Actually, I wouldn't. Unless they were coming from RNG/WAR, but you don't exactly see many of those flying around at 75.

Ask Reality there is a reason you don'tI've never been out damaged by anyone in any party at any time on any mob (I never fought Skeles and this excludes RNG cannons). I'm sure most RNG's are that way so I don't see your point holding true on a parsar.
Kyp said:I can vouch for Skaw with my parser.. he's in my link and i've been out with him. Unfortunately I didn't save files from pre-publish on it so I have no visual proof (but they could be edited easily enough anyway I suppose)
Skaw can do things i've seen no ranger capable of, of course he's got enough in gear to match the prices you guys would spend on arrows though. *shrug*
I almost always parse my parties on monk, because I like to see how I'm comparing to the other DD. In all parties with a rng, unless they spammed sidewinder, our damage was usually less than 200 off from each other. Certain fights tipped the scales one way or another, like when my food wore off during the fight and I didn't notice or when I had berserk and focus up at the same time.Strid said:Skaw said:Strid said:You'd be lying to yourself to actually believe they didn't.

Yeah, 3x mnk or 4x mnk 4tw.Skaw said:I don't fight skeletons too, since it's hard to break 4k/hour in Ranperre's tomb because people don't build their pt's to roam.
God I hate that place so much.

Even after 55, I was still close to rng's in terms of damage, again less than 200 points off a fight; the difference was that my damage was spread out between 2-5 attacks while they did it all in 1 shot each attack round.
