wow.....

Considering Cubs probably knows little to nothing about Synical I'd just disregard it man. Just trying to tally up some cool points with the ol' Pricking skill would be my assumption.

Just Hear me out in this post and please read it

I think i can pretty much speak for all rangers.. the only ones that levle it for end game are usually the ones that levle it as a second job.... i dont have a prblem with that, but it seems you guys do.....most of the people who levled ranger on their first job (aside from new players) leveld it because they love it.. hell ive taken ranger to 50 on 2 characters and 75 on this one

This nerf is bad... very bad. I realize ranger was far superior to other jobs, so a small nerf is not bad... other jobs have been nerfed.. so who cares. Maybe if theynerfed ranger by

-Giving us D ratings in all melee weapons
-Making our accuracy job trait ranged attack only
-Flat out lowering the damage of arrows (DUH)

This was SE's intent to fix ranger.. the 3 things listed above.. however they went about them all the wrong way.. which basically fucked ranger

This is what SE did

-introduced the range nerf.. making it so ranger have to find the sweet spot and any shots done up close get a 50% damage cut (has been tested)
* well... this really screws ranger... no more soloing.. sure I can solo an air elemental in la theine.. but if i want to farm real money (im not giving away my spot, lets just said Zitah since everyone farms there) I am gonna suffer...i tried killing some gobbue there today... as a 75 ranger preupdate I would go through 3 stacks of bloody bolts per farming session... that will at least be doubled and there are slower kills

So one thing ranger excelled at... farming.. which we should excel at to farm for our ammo costs, SE has gimped us in this department... trully gimped us

I wouldnt have minded a nerf in a differnt way... why couldnt they have just lowered ranged attack damage? sure ranger would still be complaing... but it would be hell of a lot better then this sweet spot shit

Now ranger have to learn how to hold hate.... well fucking a.... not only are we out damaged Dot wise.... but now we have to "hold back" so we can stay in our sweet spot... but the spot isnt sweet as our range accuracy is reduced

Meh w/e... they could of gone about balancing ranger many differnt ways.... but they decidede to do this the idiotic way

Now...we are outdamaged in Dot, if we pull hate our damage is cut 50%.. so we have to hold back.. I m not paying 16-18k gil per stack of demon arrows to be outdamaged.. i might pay it if it was equal or ranger was a little bit ahead in the WS department...

Like i said... you guys keep saying all you elitest ranger... thats really pising me off because it is so god damn annoying

I started levleing ranger in april of last year.. it was the first advanced job i unlocked on my first character..hell i didnt even know what SKY and HNM was untill i got to around level 60

i would suppose no one knows anything about mathematics either and those of us who aren't exactly going ape for your bitching are lumped in with this as well? I also assume you would presume to know more about the job than SE  IMO this is a serious blow to rangers but meh wotcha gonna do? does it level the playing field for the rest of us, sure? do we think that's fair? sure. Is it? probably not. But at least SEs doing something to break up the cookie-cutter mold everyone has for their jobs. Last i checked the options were there for us to decide what we wanted to play to have fun, not sit in jeuno for hours on end lfg even with the leetest of leet gear. Iono, i'm not trying to piss anyone off about it, learned my lesson about the whole bitching at the bitchers thing it's counterproductive, i just think that ABSOLUTELY freaking out and getting defensive towards all the other jobs is a bit silly.

Eh, mathmatics? Never said anything about that.

The whole job listing was meant as a funny. It's traditionally how most games classes act compaired to that of FFXI.

SE probably knows the job bette than me FOR THEIR GAME but I was speaking traditionally.

I wasn't "freaking out" or "getting defensive" to all other jobs. Again, it was a joke. As for my comment about Tauro (sp?) That was, no joke. I just can't find an ounce of love for him anywhere.
Make no mistake, i wasen't trying to be all high and mighty about it personally i thought the class nerfs were funny (i play NWN on occasion when the server's down ) and like i said i agree now that the nerf is a bit much, i had a problem with people going ape BEFORE the update was in now i can honestly say "hey maybe you have a point there" and not worry about it ^^

The good rangers are not the ones who are complaining. They are the ones figuring out how to adjust.

adjust to our damage being nerfed? so every time we pull hate, we get a 50% damage penalty?

adjust to paying 16k-18k a stack of demon arrows to be outdamaged by other melee...

any fucking ranger can adjust to the nerf.. its not fucking hard to find the sweet spot... but seriously.. shut the fuck up already

SE could of balanced ranger way better then this... SE fucked us solo wise (a levle 60 drk killed a gobbue in zitah faster then me, and i used more bloody bolts)

So I get to pay gil to be outdamaged by melee
and i get to pay even more gil then i already did to farm... and im a ranger.... wow thats smart

SE could of just made our job trait range attack only, given us E- in all melee weapons, and lower the damage of range attacks.. as simple as that

I still don't see why every rng HAS to pull hate all the time. There's a ton of rng's who don't know how to restrain themselves and end up tanking all the time. The good rng's that I've partied with only pulled hate from weapon skills or maybe barrage, since they knew about hate management. This update just means that you have to stand further back, that's fine. But it also means for those rng's who do nothing but spam sidewinder that it will be a lot easier to get hate off of them, since they won't be doing such huge damage when they have hate.

You're still the best damage dealers, just not up close, where you never should have been in the first place. All the rng's were up close using a ranged attack, defeating the whole purpose of giving them ranged abilities. Your job obviously needed some kind of nerf, it's just no one was expecting it to be this big.

Edit: oh, and melee DD was capable of matching a rng's damage before the change. So it's not like it's the end of the world because someone can do as much as you.

Shh, let them think their huge burst numbers actually meant something in the long run.

You'd be lying to yourself to actually believe they didn't.

Actually, I wouldn't. Unless they were coming from RNG/WAR, but you don't exactly see many of those flying around at 75.

I never cried about RNG pumping out the damage, because as a MNK, it wasn't exactly tough for me to pass their numbers.

Ask Reality there is a reason you don't :p I've never been out damaged by anyone in any party at any time on any mob (I never fought Skeles and this excludes RNG cannons). I'm sure most RNG's are that way so I don't see your point holding true on a parsar.

I don't fight skeletons too, since it's hard to break 4k/hour in Ranperre's tomb because people don't build their pt's to roam.

God I hate that place so much.

I can vouch for Skaw with my parser.. he's in my link and i've been out with him. Unfortunately I didn't save files from pre-publish on it so I have no visual proof (but they could be edited easily enough anyway I suppose)

Skaw can do things i've seen no ranger capable of, of course he's got enough in gear to match the prices you guys would spend on arrows though. *shrug*

He wouldn't beat out a RNG with equally good gear or little under and you can take that to the bank.

I almost always parse my parties on monk, because I like to see how I'm comparing to the other DD. In all parties with a rng, unless they spammed sidewinder, our damage was usually less than 200 off from each other. Certain fights tipped the scales one way or another, like when my food wore off during the fight and I didn't notice or when I had berserk and focus up at the same time.

Even after 55, I was still close to rng's in terms of damage, again less than 200 points off a fight; the difference was that my damage was spread out between 2-5 attacks while they did it all in 1 shot each attack round.

EXP it may get kind of close I'll agree if the RNG isn't afraid to SS>Barrage>SS or get a little risky it may get close. However, move that over to end game mobs. Can't touch us with a stick.

I'll take your word for it about rng in endgame. I've never parsed that before and I'm usually way to busy keeping the tanks and everyone else alive to bother caring about who does what damage.
